Eggstatic!!!!!

One the first night sleeping in our new house, I woke up at 4.20am to the sound of something like... Cocka doooooooooooooooodilllldooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!
I then thought to myself... oh no!! I love my sleep in the morning since most nights I don't even climb into bed til after midnight. But ever since I have honestly not even heard them. They are super cute to watch. They belong to the neighbours but always wonder on over to our place to come and say hello.
Was so funny yesterday while Ken was planting some sun duals for me that he come inside with the biggest grin on his face.. This is what he had found in our garden just outside in our back garden. Made me laugh!!!! So mmmm thanks a million... you're welcome back anytime.
So it will be a fresh omelet for us for dinner tonight!
Cheers to our neighbours.

When I saw this gorgeous range from My Minds Eye (Fine and Dandy) and Alphabet Soup, I was so excited and could not wait to use them. I love the wee owls and swirls. They are simply divine. I have added October Afternoon Mini Market letters, American Craft Thickers, Websters Pages Sparkles, Kaiser Rhinestones, Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, Websters Pages Flock Border, Jenni Bowlin Buttons, Crate Paper ( Little Sprout Collection) and Jenni Bowlin Kindergarten Alpha letters. Also the sweet as chippy bird cage which I have inked up. I have doubled up on the bottom swirls, inked the edges up and twirled the edges up for a bit of dimension.
I cannot believe how hot it is out there today..... I have no air conditioning in our house and I am getting a quote today.. I know it's going to be so expensive but I need it at least in my scrap booking room. I am sitting here at Daisys Chain Scrapbooks at the moment with my laptop having a chat to Barbi. So awesomely cool in this shop right now. Off to go and take out a second mortgage to get Corey's new school uniforms for Grammar. He is starting this year. Will be excellent for him.
Thanks for stopping in and will touch base again soon.

Beautiful Fabrics...!!

About September last year I stumbled across this gorgeous fabric shop in Hervey Bay called Dew Drop Inn. OMG!!!!!!!! Totally stunning shop and mind blowing. I spent all my weekend money there on the right amount of owl fabric to make up a queen size quilt. It is going to be basic and easy as this is how I want it... but it is going to be absolutely stunning with the fabrics and colors I have chosen. It will take me a fair while to put together but I will keep you posted.
I also found this site here to...
I have also bought some ...cover your own buttons from there to make my own cute buttons to add to my pages. Has anyone done this..?
Nice to see some sunshine outside but it is as humid as ever. Not nice. I am thinking of all those poor families down south in Caboolture and now Brisbane.
Love always.. Moonie x

My cute as wee niece Karenza

When we were on our boat cruise in New Zealand I got to spend 8 hours with my beautiful Mum and Poppa John.. We had the best ever day and jammed so much in.
In the afternoon I got a special surprise to have my cousin Tonya and her 3 gorgeous kids with us for a few hours on the beach. Corey looved so much to spend this precious time with them on the beach. They explored for shells and seaweed, had running races, icecream fights... lots and lots of photos and these are just some precious photos Ken took of Karenza and I in the water. She was so excited when she found this star fish.
I have used the new MME Alphabet soup paper range and a bit of.... ummm.. forgot.. gotta get back to them. Prima letters, Kaiser wood chip, Websters Pages lace with rose buds on it. I would like to put it onto a canvas for her for her room but not sure if it will look as good once it gets to the New Zealand shores.
Thanks for looking.... love all your work out there too.

Qld Floods

These are just 3 photos that I took of our house today. We have had so much rain it is so devastating. We are lucky that we only have minor floods and our garage is flooding but we have it under control by sweeping it out and got fans on it to dry the flooring. We lost our phone line 5 days ago but at least we are dry and safe. I feel so sad inside for the families who have lost so much and family members. Tomorrow I will post some photos of our pub up North that we had just renovated 4 years ago and we were hit by cyclone Larry. It was devastating. Somehow my husband still sold beer out of our bottle shop with no lights.. He was happy to still sell with a camping light. Well the locals up there drank beer rain, hail or shine.. even hot!!!!!!!!!!
We are just having a family outing at the local Hotel as we all have cabin fever. I am happy to catch up on blog posting and hoping as I dont have internet at home.. what is making me laugh as I type this is that he is bored out of his brain as I am not able to talk to him.... I said... mmmm go and get a news paper like you normally do.. Drives me nuts when we go out for a coffee and all he does is reads the paper and I end up talking to the chair beside me... So... pay back time.. hahahahahahahah
Keep safe everyone

Cordless Pink Heat Gun

Check out this super cute cordless Heat Gun!! I am just about to start having a play with Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Clear Rock Candy, Crackle Paint, Embossing Powders etc. I am loving the idea of the different textures and techniques.. I love painting on canvas and exploring the world of paints and elements.. so I will be open for any ideas and suggestions or even if you have tried something and it hasn't worked out for a reason.. Let me know how you discovered the correct way or easier way. Everyone finds an easy way to do these sort of things and its great to share your positive experiences and your booo boos.. hahahaha
I hope all you Queenslanders here are keeping dry. We have flood warnings now in the Sunshine Coast. The Bruce Highway is cut now from Gympie up. I feel for all the families that have lost so much and have been evacuated out of their homes. Terribly sad.
Love to all and keep safe.

Honorable Mentions!!

After all the hype of moving house and going on our boat cruise I have forgotten to post my exciting news ....
I got 2!! Honorable Mentions for my work I submitted for the Scrapbooking Memories Masters 2010. I was so excited when I got off the boat in Sydney and read one of my SMS's that I received an HM!! Then the next SMS was ..... OMGosh, you have 2!! I was over the moon and delightfully surprised to have received these.
These are my two submissions that I received the HM for:
This was my Off the Page submission. When Danielle left home 9 months ago the one thing she requested from me was to send her all her favorite recipes.... so just 5 days before the deadline for the Masters it hit home was I should do for my OTP project.
It had been under Danielle's Christmas tree for 3 weeks and she cried when she opened it. It was her most favorite present out of all I sent her. That then made me cry.... :-(

This was my Single Layout submission which was required a non scrapping object or a recycled object. I have used an old film strip negative under her photo. This is the one submission that I thought would definately let me down as it was 12am when I started it and was 3.45am when I got into bed. I then then very next day only left to pop it into fast post to NSW. I just love this layout as this is MY GIRL AND I LOVE THIS DARLING PHOTO OF HER... and it is all about her in this layout. So I was ever so grateful and excited when I learnt that I had an HM for this.

This is my double layout submission.

So that's it for me... Congrats to all the new Masters!!!!!! You all sooo deserve your placings as your work is outstanding and I love it all.
And congrats to all the other girls who got an Honorable Mention. Good luck next year everyone.

A bit out of my league...

When I see paper like this I just love it and it makes me feel like a little girl who wants to play with this such cute as paper... but then when I get it home to play with .... I struggle.. Not sure what it is. Maybe cause I feel like I can't grunge it up or something.. Not sure. But this is what I have come up with. I love this photo as it is my family all put together and we were away for a special weekend. I was 15 here. I showed my husband the other day and this is one photo that he has not seen. He said.... gee girl.. you even had a mullet then. OMG!!!!!!!!!! Moonie with a mullet... I don't think so Tom!! I had my hair pulled back up the top thank you!
Anyway go and check out these papers at My Little Shoebox. They are seriously cute.

I have been procrastinating about using these papers as I have wanted to Glimmer Mist them. I am totally afraid of Glimmer Mist except the Gold.. hahhha...
I gave it a go but then gave up. So I have used Tim Holtz Distress Inks to ink up my paper. I have used a bit of Tims products here, Heidi Swapp letters, Dusty Attic chippy, Collections chipboard bird, Crackle Paint, Prima lace, My 2 Angels hand made embellishment and a few other bits. I have done this for my husbands son who is in this picture. I have put it on a canvas and it does look great for them to hand on their wall.

Thanks for looking girls... look forward to getting online permanently as I am going out of my brain not being able to keep in touch and be inspired daily by all your work out there.
Oh well... good things come to those who wait. Thank goodness for Friday nights at Daisys and cafes.
Night night all

Our new home

Firstly this is the canvas I got for Ken for Christmas. I had it hidden under the bed and I bought it out on Christmas morning. He was wrapped. I love it.

Now this is our new home.. It is taking a wee bit of time to get used to as I am now in the bush and not near the water.. even though we are only ten minutes away from the beach.. it is totally different for me. It took many hours to clean as the owners walked out and just left the place without cleaning it.. I on the other hand left mine like a display home. Just how we bought it. We have been there for two weeks now and pretty well settled in now. The neighbours have chooks and we listen to them in the morning. It is nice.
I am still waiting for the internet to be connected at home but it is going to be a long haul I think. Pain in the bum and I am missing the motivation and inspiration. So bring it on.
Take care everyone and cant wait to get online again.

Alphabet Soup Range

I got my hot liddle hands on this gorgeous range from My Minds Eye today from Daisy Chain Scrapbooks in Nambour today. My home away from home.
It is so sweet and I am love with the papers. I don't often do many of these sorts of papers because I don't think I can pull it off, but each time I have I have loved what I have done.... so I will be hunting down some cute photos of Danielle and Corey to play with on these papers.

This is going to be fun and great paper to use leftovers too to make cards up.
See ya

So here we are again

I feel like I have been out of touch with the scrapping world since we sold and left our house in mid November. We spent 9 nights in our caravan at the beach which would have been great if I had the time there... but with the Christmas retail hours up I was working every day all day so when I did get to stay there I loved it.
We moved into our new house in the pouring rain and I spent 40 hours there like a maniac unpacking all the boxes and putting furniture into place. Then we were on the plane to Sydney on the Friday. On the Saturday Ken and I and Corey stepped aboard the most beautiful ship I have ever seen for a comfortable and exciting two weeks ahead of us traveling all around New Zealand with 10 other friends of ours.
The Ships name was Rhapsody of the Seas.. I slept for the first 20 hours I think as I was absolutely buggered. It was a truely amazing experience and I would recommend it to anyone. Great that you can unpack your suitcase for two weeks holiday and yet go all over a country.... well even though it is the size of a pimple.
We are now home and I had the Sunday at home and back into work the Monday before Christmas until Christmas Eve. We had a lovely quiet Christmas day. Just what we all needed.
Corey is really settled and extremely happy in our new home and so is Ken. He is on top of the world. So all happy at our place. No more moves for us.
Nice to be back online and will be spending hours on scanning through all your blogs girls.
I hope you all have a great year for 2011 and it is all positive for you all.
Love always
