Loove my new stamp set

I couldn't resist this stamp set the other day when I come across it. I have been doing a couple of layouts using paper that have this patter on it and I have been happily cutting them out.. but then I was wishing they were on the right color paper for me to blend in with my layout. So now I can stamp them out on any color and they look just simply gorgeous. Go to the My Minds Eye website here and check out the lovely Stella and Rose Collection of papers and embellies.

New Layouts to share

Here is a wild and wicked layout of Corey with his 3 cousins who popped in for the night on their way around Australia. Their parents have high profile jobs in Sydney and are sick to death of the constant busy city life.. so they planned and saved for a year and set a date to pack up house and school bags and hit the road. They left about 4 months ago and are at the Cape as we speak. Maria my cousin in doing external school with the 3 kids. They are having the time of their lives and experiencing things they never thought they ever would so young. If you are interested check out Maria's travel blog.....
Just the photos alone would make you dream of just packing up and taking off. I admire them as parents for doing this.
Anyway if you are after one of these layouts you can find them here at A Craft Affair in Townsville. I design kits for Leanne up there so go and check out her site if you are after one.

And here is the other layout I have to share with you today.

I have used the gorgeous Echo Park "For the Record" collection, some of Tracy's flowers from my2angels which I sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, a couple of Martha Stewart punches which I have an addiction for, Collections Transparent bird, a stem from Kaiser Craft and a chipboard florish from Scrapware.
So that's it for this pleasantly quiet Sunday.. DH has been away for 4 days so now he is at home I am chilling while he and Corey build "Boy's things" in the shed.. :-)
I hope you are all well and keeping warm.. I am loving this winter.

Living on scraps

I culled through all my papers the other day... I have a scraps art bin and I stash in here big and small scraps. I pulled out the papers I don't think I will use on a layout in the near future. It is great now as I have a good stash of scraps for cards. And look what I have come up with. They are really cute and so much fun to make.

These bottom ones are definately my favorites. Just loove these cute as animals from the Fine and Dandy collection from My Minds Eye.
I cannot believe we were laying on the beach today in bikinis and tonight I have my ugg boot on that I have not worn for 3 years in a row. It is just soo cold ATM but I am not complaining. I am actually loving it.
Have a great week.

Swimming with the Sharks

I have seen these shoes for a long time in just a few shops and really admired them as they are a cute shoe with a comfortable feel to them. Their shoes are produced using the finest materials and most unique patterns, creating fantastic casual apparel. All of our shoes have a gum outsole, soft leather uppers, combined with soft micro linings and latex foam cushioned foot bed. They are normally $125 but the shop was closing down and they are also on the internet marked down to $50 also. They are soo comfy and as I don't really own winter shoes except one pair and a pair of black high boots. So these are my newbies. Go here and check them all out. I chose the orange and white ones.. Thanks for stopping by and saying hi x

Brisbane Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo

My friend Monika and I went to Brisbane and stayed at the Ibis for 2 nights.. Just the best ever girly weekend.. shopping, coffee, drinkees, out for dinner and of course the Scrapbooking Expo. It was so much fun. We left home straight after School drop off Friday morning and had a long pit stop in at Chermside Shopping Centre on the way down.. We spent 4 hours there and spent half of our spending money there as there were sales galore... then we hit the room at the Ibis. We jumped on the beds, drink our wines in bed with potato chips in bed watching shit on TV and even had crumbs in the bed... we just laughed.. It was soo relaxing for us. We rested til about 7 and then walked to the Southbank Markets and spent some more $ on some gorgeous stuff there. We then sat down for the yummest dinner.. I had lamb shanks with a lovely orange sauce and mashed potato. ohhhh soo yummy.
Saturday morning we hit the Scrapbooking Expo. This is where we had so much fun. There was so much to look at and take it it was great. I bought mainly so much chippy. It was great to see som much delicate and intricate chippy out there now. I love the stuff. I think this is my new addiction. I spent a fortune on it... but I love every single individual different piece I bought.
Saturday night we met up with my dear friend Kim Zerner from Warwick. We had a few drinks and had a lucious dinner at a gorgeous Ahmets Turkish Restaurant. Our meal was soo delish. Not a late night out but a very enjoyable one.. and even more enjoyable once we hit our comfy beds at the Ibis. Today we hit Queen St mall and finished off by doing some more shopping. I cannot believe just how fast our 3 days went. Cannot wait for our next weekend away. Was just the best.
I have added some photos of our weekend.

The gorgeous Tracy.... the absolute Heart and Soul of my2angels. Tracy had such a massive variety of stock and her charms and flowers are just soo cheap. $1.60 for most packets of 6 charms. They are soo cute.

Having my morning fix of coffee.... this bowl of cappucino was so yummy first thing in the morning when it was so cold.

Monika and I out for Friday night

Ready to go out
This morning in the drizzling Brisbane rain... but it didn't stop us from having a great day.

Three of the my2angels Design Team Members...
I hope you all had a great weekend if you went to the show. I was excited to meet a few of my online buddies.. You are all great girls.. Wished we all lived so much closer.

Kaisercraft Class of '87

I have put together this very neat and clean layout using the gorgeous Kaisercraft Class of '87 papers. Just for a different effect I have used the same photo twice and just doubled up showing only slightly part of the underneath photo. I love this photo of Corey doing his favorite homework.. Maths.!!
I have used a Jenni Bowlin bingo tag and some Bakers Twine which is one of my favorite embellies right now too. Notice the cute as wee boys cap charm from my2angels. Tracy has so many gorgeous charms to add to your pages.
This is one of the kits I have designed for A Craft Affair in Townsville.
Night night for now..

My quilt

Link
When Danielle was 4 I made her a quilt with my heart and soul. I put so much time and money and effort and sweat and tears into it that she hardly got to touch it LOL
I must admit it was really my quilt for the past 15 years. I took it everywhere, used it on my bed in the winter, took it in the caravan etc.. and when she left home last year... I quickly ran inside and got HER lol quilt and said... Dont forget YOUR quilt.. She gazed at me like I was a nut.
She took it but months later when I went to visit her, it was still in her car and I had obviously taken the HER quilt out of it as it become MY quilt.. phew......
you with me...
but when she did take it initially I cried and cried my heart out that she just left me :-( but the one thing I had in my head to do was to do another quilt to remind me of when she left home at 19. I looked for months and months for fabric that I knew I wanted but it was all so old and cottagey looking.. I walked into this shop in Hervey Bay and my knees nearly gave way. Corey instantly said..." OMG you are going to be at least 2 hours aren't you Mummy".
And yep I was a while.. but bought exactly what I had in my head.
So it has taken me another 7 months to get a start on it.. between life, working, scrapping and designing etc... I just had to say.. Just do it. So here is my front. I have the binding all put together and have the inner batting. Just have to get the backing for it. I am going to use the white floral print for the back. A bit more mellow.
Cannot wait for it to be finished to I can roll around on the floor in it.
I hope to see a lot of you in 3 days at the Scrapbook and Papercraft Convention in Brisbane. So looking forward to having 3 days in a motel with my girlfriend. Just the two of us.
See you there I hope. Look out for my work that will be at the Daisy's Scrapbooks stand. Kits are available.
Love to all

Time out

It was nice to take a short break from blogging over the past week. I have spend the last week going to bed so much earlier than my usual 12.30am which is very late but I get soo engrossed in what I am creating.. but the past week it has been such cuddly weather so I have had to nearly toss a coin whether to go to bed or sit up and scrap. I have really enjoyed going to bed and snuggling up with my DH and DS. I had done 3 layouts this week though. Two for A Craft Affair who I design for in Townsville and I have completed my first.... Kim Jeffries you will be proud.. my first layout for this years Masters Comp. So at least I have made a start.. not like my first year last year, I gave myself 5 days to do all the projects before the deadline date.. OMG sooo never again.. It was the first time I have ever shaken while scrapping... Put too much pressure on myself.
Anyway not much to share in layouts tonight.. but have another one on the go so will share this week. I hope you are all keeping rugged up and warm. Loving this weather.
Have a great week girls
