Just in time for winter

Well here is the finished product for those who are not my FB friends... I am super duper happy with the end result and I' so glad I chose the bright colours.  It's cheerful and happy like me.
I have put all my scraps together and made my binding from that.  I love how the binding is all different.  It fits on top of a queen size bed.

I' feeling pretty happy to have finished a few pretty special projects.  Now I think I will spend a few nights browsing through all my favourite blogs and get onto Pinterest.
Take care and rug up everyone.  I have the nasty flu :-(

Charlotte's Dream

Well here is the finished project.  My Ikea storage drawers scrapped to the max using 90% of the delicious Kaiser Craft Charlotte's Dream Collection.  This collection is simply stunning as it has a very romantic soft feminine feel to it.
I have lightly inked up some of the die cuts and when layering the Mod Podge over the stamps it actually smudged the stamps a wee bit.  I didn' know it was going to do this as I've not used Mod Podge before but I soo love the effect that it gave it.  It is a nicely aged look of the music note and script writing.  Love it.

Here is a list of the products I have used.
Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint on the butterfly,
Kaiser Pealrs on the chairs which look a dream (I love dimension),
Girl Paperie ART letter stickers,
Delish brad,
Bee stamp,
Handmade flower by Lee-Anne Bishop,
October Afternoon Cameo Sticker, crocheted doily,
Scrapmatts birdcage
and of course a nice dollop or ten of the amazing Mod Podge.

Happy happy happy with my beautiful trinket box I now have.  I have so many special things I am going to put in here.
Have a beautiful week everyone.. I am looking forward to going to Daisy Chain Scrapbooks on Friday night for my Friday night scrap with the girls.
Love always

Ikea and Kaiser Craft

Ikea is sooo one of my favourite places to shop for the home.. Cheap and funky and miles and miles of selection for the home and kids rooms and nic naks.  I picked up this cute box there 12 months ago and I have been looking at it for months on end but I didn't want to touch it until I come up with exactly what I wanted to do with it.  When I saw this absolutely stunning range from Kaiser Craft.... Charlottes Dream Collection I got my head into gear and got started within 24 hours.  I have just given you a sneak peak.  I have just the top to finish off now.  I am in love with it.  It is all about me and what I love.  It is for no one else but me.  So I have put a lot of me in it and what I love.
I will hopefully finish my project tomorrow night so if I do.. I will post photos.

I have just searched through Ikeas website for the box but they must have deleted the line.  Which is sad as it's a very cool side and nice deep drawers.  Im sure there are other alternative wooden boxes we could use again.
Well off to bed for me.  My husband has been in Melbourne for 5 days, home for one and then off again tomorrow for another 3.  So into bed for snuggles while it is nice and cold.  So glad he supports me in this  beautiful hobby that I have.
Night night to all you special ones out there.. Take care, keep warm and keep up the Vitamin C.

A beautiful new little life

I have one daughter.... but I also have another who is my daughters BFF..... Wee Bonnie had a hubby girl of her own this time last week.  She had a beautiful little girl who she named Ava Jade.  Bonnie is going to the best little Mumma... she has been longing to be a mother for so long even though she is so young herself.  But she has a very supportive and excited partner and now living a very happy little life together. 19 seems so young but I was 21 when I had my Danielle and she and I have the best ever relationship and I would not trade that with the whole wide world.  Bonnie will be the same with little Ava.
I thought I would share a collage I put together with a couple of beautiful pics of Bonnie just 2 weeks before she had Ava.
I will post a photo of the layout I put together for Bonnie and it will go on a canvas for Avas room.  What a special picture for Ava to have in years to come.  These are the most beautiful sensational pregnancy photos I have ever seen.  I looove the lighting in them.  Wish I had them done.  I did... but nothing as gorgeous as these.

That's all from me tonight. Way too cold for this chook to stay up.  Need to catch up on some well earned sleep.  Looking forward to having the next two days off.  Keep warm Aussie girls x

Yippeeee quilt finished!

I have only made one big quilt before... It was for my daughter when she was 4 years old.  It has only just died... and that was after finally giving it to my sisters pooch who loved it.  It had a few age holes in it so I thought instead of giving it to St Vinnies Ted could have it and he loved it.  So I was pretty happy with getting a good 16 years out of it.  When my daughter left home I did the blubba cry for months and months and I decided to make another quilt since she left and took hers.  It took me forever to find the exact fabric I wanted.  I hadn't seen what I wanted.. but I knew what I wanted.
I walked into a gorgeous shop Dew Drop Inn in Hervey Bay Qld over a year ago and fell in love with this special collection.  It took me about 9 months to put together.  I didn't do it every day and every week as I have a heck of a lot of other projects on the go too LOL
All I have had to do in the past few months was put the binding on.  I finally sewed it on yesterday with the machine and hand stitched it on the back last night in bed.  Soooo happy to throw it around the bedroom and snuggle into it.  I love the colourful fabric I have chosen and I love the birds on the back of it.  We have a king bed and this actually fits on top of a queen size.
See my clock on the bedside table... well it was midnight when I finished hand stitching... and yip.... that's when I turn into a pumpkin. I felt like Corey when I finished.  He claims Daddy's spot in the bed when Daddy is away.

I am loving this cooler weather.  I am hoping for the rain to show tomorrow for a few days.  We just put our 3rd water tank in so lets hope it fills up.  Looking forward to a nice big fat hot bubble bath.  Perfect weather for it.
See you back soon

My Minds Eye May Challenge

Well this was certainly a challenge for me.. It is the most different challenge I have come across but was pretty keen to give it a go.
Click on this link to check out the My Minds Eye May Challenge.
The challenge is simple: use "masculine" colors or embellishments on a girl page, or use "feminine" colors and accents on a boy page.  And that it is....  but a bit more difficult that you think. Especially when you are used to doing boy pages and colours for your boys and pretties for the girls.. but it was lots of fun.
I have used this gorgeous  LOVE ME Collection from MME. I actually love it as my DS is the apple of my eye.  So the love them and hearts suit him full stop.  I have added a few sequins into the cute banner and pulled apart a Lost and Found brad and changed it.  And of course he is my favourite person so this sticker was perfect to tile the page.

So off you go and see what you can come up with.  Lots of fun and out of your square.

Thats all for tonight and thanks for stopping in to have a wee bo peep.

Just you Dad

Sadly and suddenly about 7 years ago I lost my Dad due to a stroke and then followed by an aneurism.  I have scrapped only 3 layouts of my Dad and I struggle each and every time to do one.  I have got 2 put a slide I have tried to scrap but I get so stressed trying to put them together that I end up putting them away for another day.  My friend Tarrah put me to the challenge of giving this challenge a go along at Handmade by Suzannne.   Go and give it a go..... here is the link.  Below is the gorgeous sketch that was our inspiration designed by Nadia Cannizzo.

I fell in love with the sketch and this is my take on it.
I must say I nearly gave up on putting it together as once again I was stressing something shocking as it was a layout of my Dad, but after putting it aside for about 30 minutes this time and not months on end I completed it and I am pretty stocked that I finished it.  Now I can sit proud and look at it.  My Dad here was a young and very good looking 23 years old.

The products I have used in this layout are:

Imaginary Chippy - Just you
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Pear
7 Gypsies Journal Tags
Scrapware - Doily
Kaiser Craft - Sweet Nothings Ppaer
Jenni Bowlin Bingo card Park - A Boys Life
Echo Park - This n That tag - Dad
Graphic 45 ABC Prima
Graphic 45 Old Curiosity Shoppe
Kaiser Kraft "25 December"
Ruby Rocket Flower
Prima Bling Button
Doily
Prima bling button
Delish Washi tape - with birds on wire

Well I am already in my nighty are ready to get comfy on my couch for the evening.  Nice and chilly here at the moment so I think we might be in for a cool night.  Off to do some blogging x

Bird is the Word

Well here goes.... I am on a roll and I am loving getting out of my comfort zone.  Im loving putting together layouts with a different and yet interesting criteria these days. The criteria was pretty easy for me on this challenge along at Bird is the Word.  It was simply the word SMILE
I picked out my photos and it was obvious to me these were the pick of the crop.  One reason Mandy is my BFF in the whole wide world and 2... we are always laughing.. So first step easy peasy..
Second step was to find some pretty pink paper to match.. I loved this paper when I bought it and I felt in the mood for some girly stuff going on.  I started to scrap the page and was thinking about my title when I looked down at the journalling already on the page... and waaaalaaaaa... there was the word SMILE already on the paper for me.  So.... I had lots of fun putting this together and I am pretty pleased with the end result.  So why not give it a go and go over to Bird is the Word and give this challenge a go.
Here is my layout.

I had a fantastic and relaxing few days with my friend Tarrah McLean from near Sydney.  I put her on the plane earlier this evening after a great day down in Brisbane together.  She is such an inspiration and is one of the coolest scrappers I know.  Love how she puts her work together with such ease.
Take care girls and catch you soon

My Take........

Well a new day today and Tarrah and I have been out for our daily coffee and window shopping. Bought a few bits of clothing and home with smiles on our dials.
Tarrah has inspired me to give a few challenges a go.  It's so much fun as half of the thinking is already done for you.  From a sketch, using a palette of colours, or even just the embellies you are required to use.  It gets me out of my wee square we can tend to get in.  I am loving the challenges at the moment.
Last night I come across this challenge by 123 Challenge.  I loved the criteria out of a lot of the challenges out there for this month.  It was simple and cool I thought.

  • The colour orange
  • The word enjoy
  • Twine

So here is my take on the challenge

Products I have used are:
my2angels car charm
October AFternoon - Boarding Pass
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Tiger Lily
Making Memories Felt Alpha
Kikki K Twine
My Minds Eye - Fly a Kite - Bingo Paper
Echo Park - A Boys Life
Basic Grey Brads
Buttons
My Minds Eye - Big New Journal Card
Scrappers Floss

That's all for now.. Off to Daisys tonight for a good girlies night in

I love this challenge this month over on at Scrap the Girls... Pretty cool I was thinking with the neat Quote.... "Having a Sister is like having a Best Friend you can't get rid of.  you know whatever you do they'll still be there".
There is only my sister and I and lucky for us we are like best friends...  We are so different in so many ways but each love each other and respect each others differences.

In this layout I have used:
Kaiser Craft - Photo Friendly - Vagabond
My Minds Eye - Lost & Found Breeze Paper
Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology - Fancy Filigree
Prima Alphabet Stickers
My Minds Eye Miss Caroline paper
Kaiser Craft Flowers
Twine
Tim Holtz Bulldog clip
My Minds Eye Lost and Found Brad
Sam & Lucy Word Stickers
Doily
Versa Color Pinecone
Donna-Salazar Queen Bee Stamp

So if you feel like a good challenge pop on over to Scrap the Girls and have a go.
I am having the best time with my girlfriend Tarrah McLean from Berkleyvale NSW.  She got $9 flights about 8 months ago to the Sunny Coast so we are super happy to have 3 full days to ourselves scrapping and shopping and going out for brunch also with my beautiful friend Monika Ejmont.
We are off to Daisys tomorrow night for a huge night in.  Cant wait and so excited.
Have a great rest of the week girls.
Lots of hugs

Wedding Bells

Hi girls... well how cold has our temperature turned...?? I am in love with it.. I love the cooler weather but only for a short time.  I enjoy snuggling up in bed with my hubby and DS.  Nothing better in the world.
We are pretty lucky as our days are to die for gorgeous and sunny so we really get the both of both worlds in our Qld summer.
After doing a few too many layouts of my DS lately I could feel a bit of prettiness coming on.  I love this photo of my DH and his daughter who tied the know only 7 months ago.
I have used the beautiful Kaiser Paper here. When I saw it I actually snapped two of them up as I just love it.  It is so pretty.  I have inked up the edges and used my machine to sew around the inside edges.
I used the cool Sizzix Paper Rosette that I just love.
I have also attached some pure hippie Hemp all the way from Byron Bay markets.. Im sure it smells like weed LOL... but it is a beautiful twine..  A Element Collection butterfly.. some of my favourite butterflies to use, Tim Holtz Beautiful stamp, Kaiser flowers and resin flowers finished with
The little pearls are from Blossoms.. You can get these at some Scrapboooking stores and also Spotlight stores.

I painfully pleated this pink gorgeous velvet ribbon and hand stitched it at the back of each pleat.  I love the look of this but don't do it very often as I am sooo fussy and it does not always turn out perfect.  But I love the end result.

Thanks for looking girls.. Your comments mean a lot and now its my turn to go off and stalk some blogs x
See what you have all been up to.
Til next time

Brisbane here we come

I cannot wait til the June long weekend as I am heading to Brisbane to the Paper Craft show with two of my very special girls.  Monika Ejmont and Tarrah McLean.  We go each year and splurge and bludge in our room at the Ibis.  We have so much fun.  Jump on the beds, eat in bed LOL, go out and enjoy the restaurants and markets at Southbank, do some girly shopping, and of course indulge at the Craft show.  It is a great weekend away and I love the inspiration I get there from other scrappers and all the awesome products that are out there for us to purchase.
This is my first year I have entered in the layout competition.  Unfortunately I didn't get into the final 20 but here is my layout I submitted anyway.  I love it because I just love this photo of my darling boy.  He still has his little teeth and has a few missing.  Replaceable photo!!
So here it is.  Just thought I would share it tonight with you.

That's all folks
Have an awesome week and keep warm.. mmmm so nice and cool here in Qld right now

Time out

Well we are lucky enough to be away at the moment at Byron Bay NSW.  This is our 4th year of coming here for a week as my DH competes in the Yearly Ocean Swim Event.  There should be about 2000 competitors tomorrow morning taking part.  It is always a fantastic day on the beach followed by a big BBQ lunch.  This time of the year it is always on the chilly side at night time but the days are gorgeous.  We stay on the beachside caravan park in our caravan and we just love it.  We do nothing but res, read, crochet, blog hop LOL, walk the streets of Byron and make sure we go into each shop at least twice, swim, lay in the sun, and of course I do the lighthouse walk each day which is 7.5km.  I love the tranquility of Byron.  There is just something about this place.  Everyone is chilled, the cars are happy to give way to you while you break the law and jay walk, the little restaurants are awesome and are fully booked most nights, people are busking in the streets, the awesome markets are on Sundays here and it is just the perfect family time for us to bond and just hang out with each other.

Can't believe how big my little man is getting.. his legs are so friggin long its not funny.  He is still so close to my heart and strokes my hair and tells me 157 times a day how much he loves me. Blessed!!!

These two... best ever mates x

And of course I had the hard job of taking the photos while sipping on a cold drink LOL...well someone had to do it.. giggle x

DH and DS are out in the surf on their boards half of the morning and afternoons catching waves. DS @ 9 is getting good on the board.  Nothing like a father and son Bond while out in the ocean catching waves together.
Life is great... It could not get much better.. I have a beautiful support husband, two children who love me  to bits, a family who I adore and I am happy as me as a person.  I am content in life and just wish my besties were around me much more x
