Recovery time

Hello hello.... Well Im happy that the main part of the silly season is over..... the hustle and bustle is still happening in the shopping centres and car parks are still manic but at least I don't need to go there for any reason except the odd food shop.  I am slowly dealing with my recovery.. It has been a big test for me not doing too much as I am a goer and always doing something.. My biggest struggle with my arm at the moment is hanging out the washing  as I just cannot lift my arm up above my stomach height and drying my hair with the hair dryer.. I do it on a lean while resting my arm.. It's the simple things that i get frustrated with but I am so lucky my son comes out and helps me.. he hangs and I peg with one hand.

So here if my Week 47.. Im happy to type that I am getting there.. I would have loved to have been up to date to start the new year with a clean slate.. but that is not going to happen but thats ok.  Im so not worried. At the moment I am actually just enjoying my time creating.

This page above if you have noticed I have only used black and white photos.  I was actually asked to do a 5 day Black and white photo a day challenge.. so with this I decided to create this into another challenge in my Snap it up Project Life page.  My challenge was so do the above.  A full page using just black and white photos only.. but any embellishments.. so here is my take on the challenge.. I am happy with the way it turned out.

Below is a gorgeous Cameo cut out that my beautiful sister friend Honey Bristow in New Zealand shared with me months and months ago.  I am loving using them.

I love the way my week turned out.. I have used the die cuts and popped them through my cuttlebug.  I would love a Cameo but I only have the old fashion hand held one.. lol.. I still love it and what it does.

Our gorgeous Grandaughter.. (well my husbands Granddaughter) Aliyah.  I love this delicate photo of her looking into space.  I have used a Maggie Holmes frame, a cute wee doily, Kaiser wood veneer and some pretty gold paper for that special finish.

Just a typical today photo for my black and white challenge.. I have taken this just before I have started my training for the day.  I have used this cool digi stamp WEDNESDAY.. I LOVE THEM.  just adds another element to the page.  I have stamped the word ADVENTURE onto this natural coloured ribbon.. The finish is perfect.

Below I have used this cute Teresa Collins stamp TRUE STORY which is donkeys years old.  I have held onto it as I have loved it but have not used it a lot.  But I am starting to now.  The sun mon tue die cut down the bottom is done once again in the Cameo which I was given by another kind friend Belinda x thank you my friend.

And a close up of my Week 47 card.

I am enjoying my PL at the moment.. Little by little.. I am getting there.. As I am off work for a 5 more weeks I have had a bit more time to read a few blogs and get onto Pinterest and look at the inspiration out there.. Oh man there is some of that.
I hope you all have a fantastic week and make sure you create something out of your square this week.  I try to each week.  Even if it is something little. You will be amazed at how much fun it is to do so.
Thats is for now..
Love always

Time to rest

Well there are only 3 more sleeps to go until Christmas Day.  I am taking it easy.  I have done all my shopping so that is the main thing out of the way for me.  As I had shoulder surgery only 4 days ago... I am now in slow mode, do not much mode and I really have no choice now but to take it easy.  I have 6 weeks off work to recover and I know I will need just that.
I had a rotar cuff and bursitis on my shoulder which was very painful in the past 5 months (I injured it 3 years ago in our caravan), so I had to get it taken care of as it was restricting me from so much in my every day life.  And like my surgeon said, if I leave it any longer it will end up tearing.  That would mean having about 4-5 months to recover.  So I was operated on 6 weeks after the first time Steve saw my ultrasound results.
Sooooo, for now.. it's steady steady for me.  I am not worried.. It will be a bit of a test for me as I am not one to go slow but at the moment  I can only do that.  Do a bit and then feel sick and need to go and lay down.  I feel sick from the pain so I guess that is what recovery is all about.  Doing just that.

I will try and spend a bit of this time catching up on Project Life. To date I am currently up to Week 48.  Thats ok.. Im happy with that.  I am looking forward to having a Christmas page.  I have some gorgeous yummies from Flutteryby Designs and I cant wait to get my hands on them and have a play.  I will post as soon as I have completed that page.

A realistic selfie of myself the day after surgery.  Very swollen arm, fingers, neck and even my poor eyes.

My best friend ever learning how to do a pony tail all over again..
It's impossible to do the most simplest of things which we just do without thinking daily.

Anyway... I am happy to just potter for now and get onto Pinterest and check out the inspiration all over the world.  So many lovely idea and so much talent out there.  And time for me to catch up on some blog reading.
Please make sure you have a very Merry Christmas with the ones who you love and chose to be with. If you cant be with the ones you love...  Im sure you will all have a wonderful day no matter what you are doing.  We have a very relaxed day coming up.  We are off to our friends place for the morning (which is actually my surgeon and his family) then Ken is on beach patrol at 11.30am so the boys will be on the beach for the part of the day.  I am really looking forward to our time together as two fun families who get on so perfectly.  Their kids are 14 and 12 and Corey is 11 nearly 12 so they are perfect together.
Cant wait to share some more work with you all.

Love and good wishes to you all

Having fun with Flutterby goodness

This is my long weekend off and it is pure bliss.. It has gone from 32-34 degree days to a low 18-20 degree today and pouring with rain.  The perfect weather to feel lazy and content.  My hubby and son have been away for two weeks and I left 5 days before they left so its been nearly 3 weeks since we saw each other.  We are busing to get back together and be in the loving arms of each other again... and of course drive one another crazy.
Even though I have had a pretty much roller coaster of a few weeks I have managed to squeeze in some time out for myself and do what I love.
This layout I have used some of Flutterbys gorgeous products.  If you have not seen them yet make sure you get those fingers moving and click HERE to see all Anita's goodies.

This is Week 44.  The week I flew north to spend 6 days with my darling daughter who I miss terribly.  We had the best time.  Life is not fair having to be apart... but as long as she is happy I am happy.
Below I have used a Heidi Swapp overlay on my photo.  It is the first one I have used out of my pack I purchased a while ago.  I thought this overlay matched perfect with this cute as rain drop paper I have had in my stash for ages.  The two colourful stickers are of course from Simple Stories.

Below is the cutest 6x4 Everyday Etc card which you can find over at Flutterbys.  They come in a set of 22 Matte photo cards and are great fillers for inserts.  I have added a few title epoxy stickers from Heidi Swapp.

Below is one of the cute cards from Heidi Swapp again.  I have edited my photo by adding the Ali Edwards digi words on it up on the top right hand corner.  To finish this pocket I added the cute flair button from the YOU range.  Pop over here and take a peek.  I love fairs so much I could eat em up.

Here is the super cute Becky Higgins overlay I have used.  So so simple and cute.  I added a little flower embellishment  which matches perfect.

This day in Townsville I was so lucky to have the day with these mad mothers.  My lovely friends Jodi and Helen.  Both scrappers and Project Lifers also.  So of course we had sooo much to talk about and not enough time..  I love the wood veneer  "today".  I love to leave these raw.  They are my favorite.  If you can see just down the bottom on the left there is a little cute tab that says "This is awesome".  Click HERE to have a looksie at them.

And of course my beautiful little ray of sunshine.  She lights up my world when I am with her.. I just want to be her Mummy all the time.. but the circle of life has moved and she is now a little wifey and very happy in her life.. Im sure she still needs me.

Lastly I got this cute little snapshot of her baby Chief.  Her blue stuffy who is the most adorable loving woof woof.  He was at this moment having a wash and a spoil.  He looks a bit serious but seriously was loving every moment of it  I just love love love this SELFIE card from the HAPPY SET.  Just too cool for this little man.. and hey.. how many of us take Selfies now lol.  If you want to see the little pack of flair buttons like the one below go here and check them out.  You will have a field day just choosing the ones you want.  Aren't the little tabs cute.  I love these as they are easy little embellishments that make your page.

On that note.. I'd like to say thanks so much for popping over and reading with me.  I love to share and love to read blogs also.  I hope you have been inspired.
Have a great weekend..

Blog or not to Blog?

Hi everyone.. I am back to ask a simple question.
To Blog or not to Blog

I have been blogging here and loving it since 2009.   I am wondering if people still read blogs or if they are more keen just to read Facebook posts instead and get their inspiration off Pinterest now.  I do enjoy blogging and keeping my posts up to date.. but I find I have next to no comments left anymore and not many views.

It is time to move on and just post on FB or stay.  Id love to know your thoughts on this please..

Love all my readers and followers...
