Amy Tan in Caboolture

Well I felt very privelidged to have met in person the one and only Miss Amy Tangerine.. She madea n appearance in our Morayfield Spotlight Store..  We had a good 2 hours of chatting and a little make and take with her.  Amy is the most serene, tiny, cute creative lady I have met.  I just sat back and watched her and thought... This girl has come so far just through her being so passionate about her art.  I love that is a person.  We had many laughs and photos, lost of girls I met there from the Project Life Australia group and of course enjoyed the company of three of my friends who I met down there and caught up with after.
Here are a few photos I have to share with you.

Amy signing the back of my two layouts.

The cute as card we put together... LOVE IT

I have a bit ... ummm a huge stash of Amy's goodies... Love the funkiness of it all and I have started my first ever journal (Daybook).  I am loving how it is coming together.
Amy left us in Qld and got on to the next flight to Auckland to do an appearance there and then Hamilton.. Lucky kiwis.. I hope she had a blast.

Thats all from me tonight.. Off to do some more on my journal x
Oh and Im super duper excited to see one of my layouts in this months issue of Scrapbooking Memories.

Amy Tangerine !!! Wooohoooo!!!

I cannot wait to get to meet the gorgeous Amy Tan on Thursday.  She will be making an appearance at Spotlight at Morayfield which is closest to me.  It will be pretty amazing to meet her and see what tricks she has up her sleeve.  The last super duper scrapper/designer I saw down that was was the Miss Heidi Swapp.  I love to meet these amazing people in the flesh.  She has come all the way from LA and started her journey in Melbourne.  Amy is also going to my home town.. NZ.. yes girls.. Hamilton and Auckland.. sooooo look out!!

And just for your knowledge.... step on in to your nearest Spotlight store and get your STASH of Amy Tanerines Collection.. It is oooh laa laa and all on sale.  I can't wait to get one of her journals.  They are so cool.
Well that is all for me tonight.. Home alone while my DH and DS have gone camping in the new BIG tent they bought for me.... so I would enjoy camping with them.. But I had to work today so I told them to go without me.  We have an awesome caravan but DS wants to do some real camping he said.. But Daddy we have to get a nice comfy tent for Mummy so she can be happy too.. Bless his wee cotton socks x

Teresa Collins - Tell your story

I know I am a paper addict but when I see a new collection from Teresa Collins... well that is definately an excuse to get pretty excited.  I got a few hot flushes when I handed Barbi over the money for this gorgeous paper.  I started on my layout right away when I got home.  Such lovely thick paper and the colours are so beautiful and mellow.  I have kept it pretty simple but the photo and title say it all.
I love my son so much and we have the most amazing bond.  I treasure every single day with him as I know how fast my daughter grew up and left home.  We had a beautiful connection too and still have but knowing that Corey is my last to be at home... I am not taking one day for granted.
Anyway this is a challenge I did over at Handmade by Suzanne.. I love the sketch that is put out by Nadia Cannizzo.  So inspiring.  This is my take on the sketch.. Perfect for my papers and photo I have been wanting to scrap. Go over and take a look at her challenge.

All ready for a new mess !!

Well with having only 3 days to go til the closing date of the Scrapbooking Memories Masters 2012, I got it all packed up and in the overnight bag to Sydney this morning.. Good bye and good luck to mwaaa.

My husband and son will be happy that they will now once again have my full undivided attention.  I have been locking myself in my room as much as possible over the past few weeks so I can put all I have into my projects.  I love the challenge of Masters.  It can be overwhelming but at the end of the day I love to work under pressure and love the challenge.  Now the exciting part is the waiting game.  I cannot wait to see who the new clever girls are going to be.  There are so many talented ladies out there who deserve to get a placing..... and they all do different styles of work.  I love it all.  It is not all for my and my style but it is ART  and I appreciate any form or sort of art.  So Good luck ladies.
I can now get back to knitting my hoodie I started weeks ago, my crochet blanket that has been put on hold, I can make cards again and play with my family a bit more.  Its only a few weeks a year but like I said.. I love the challenge.
I am looking forward to having a family break with my DH and DS down south at the beach in a few weeks.  We go to Fingal Bay which is so special.. It is quiet, and not much to do.  We love it.  Thats what you can call a real break.  We will take our caravan and will be set up for just under two weeks.  Love it.  I will have all the day and night to do just whatever we want.  We take the push bikes, the skate board, scooter and of course the copic pens, macbook, crocheting, and the walking shoes.  I normally do the walk alone the beach each morning which takes about an hour. Its a beautiful sight first thing in the morning.. Burn off some calories so I can squeeze some in at wine o'clock LOL
Anyway that is it for me for now.
Loving life to the fullest at the moment.  Just so blessed to have a great life and I don't take a day for granted.
Love to all my friends who read my blog.  Have a fantastic week x

Clean lines

Hi there all.... I have had an amazing weekend with my hubby and son. I have had 3 days off and the weather has been absolutely perfect!! Crispy mornings with perfectly blue skies.  We went bike riding yesterday and had lunch at a friends place.  Did a bit of shopping then home for a nice family night trust the three of us.  Had a good play in my scrapping room last night.  It is my place and my space.  Love it.  Today we send the day down at the beach.  It was to die for.  The boys got in the water on the boards and I took a picnic for us.  Loving these lovely days but not so looking forward to the full on summer heat which is basically just around the corner from us.

I haven't been scrapping much over the past month as I have been putting my heart and soul into my Masters work.  I am nearly there.  Just the double to go.  I was about to pull out as I just don't have the photos for it.  But then............... after talking to a gorgeous friend.. ....... the penny dropped!!!!!!
So I will print out my photos tomorrow for it and then do a bit of careful choosing of appropriate papers for the layout.

This layout I did Friday night at my favourite spot Daisys......... I had a great night with special girls there.  I have used Basic Grey Clippings range... so awesome for a masculine layout.  And I am in love with the funky letter blocks.. They are totally cool.  I have added in one of my favourite number buttons from Gail @ The Greatest View and some twine.  Oh and a drop of Glimmer Mist.

This one I do love..... I think it is the photo that I am in love with... Yip .. thats my mad kids.. Just look at the face on my Corey Boy!!! He is a classic and has been since he could actually pull faces.... LOL
He was 6 here in this photo and Danielle is 18. Such a classic display of love LOL
I love this new Simple Stories range that Barbi got in.  It is called Summer Fresh.. and that it is.. soo gorgeous.  Love the fresh clean lines in this collection.
I have also used a Maya Road Craft Envelope and doodled it up a bit.  Used some new stamps I bought last week.. he, she and love, washi tape, American Craft Amy Tan Male and Female figures, Hessian from Spotlight , some random bubble beads in our $1 basket at Spotlight, and my cute little pushbike die cut from October Afternoon.

This cute flower die cut is from Amy Tan also.  A great bright range and I have just added my Kaiser resin flower.

Well thats it for me folks... Off to my scrapping room..... put my boys to bed first so then I can sit up and create all night long.. Another day off tomorrow soooo woooohooooo for Moonie x

Way out West

Long over due for a girly weekend away.  Sadly my friend Monika couldn't end up coming due to stupid virus and head cold.. We went out to Warwick to a great girls place who often comes to our retreats @ Daisy Chain Scrapbooks.  Kim is a great girl and has an amazingly cute family.
There were 5 of us.  Lisa Hayes and I drove out the Esk way and belly laughed all the way.  We stopped off at Esk to this gorgeous quaint Qlder house which was a really neat cafe.  We had home made cauliflower and bacon soup.  To die for.
We arrived there on Friday and had the best weekend.  I did not do one layout but created about 15 cards.  So I have caught up on my card stash for now.

From back left is Lisa Hayes (AKA Moooo), Me (AKA Moonie), Kimmeeeee herself, then in the front left is Alaine and then Sheree.

We had way too much food, enjoyed a few drinks at night, ate dinner late cause we could, went to the local markets on Sunday morning.

Here is the cute cafe which is a Qlder home where we had lunch in Esk... Mmmmm
Apparently they have the best ever coffee too.

The beautiful church I fell in love with.  Soo pretty in real life.

Nice to get away.. but so nice to get home.  I miss my hubby so much when I go away... and my son... well he is just the best... I had dinner cooked for me when I got home and a nice hot bath ready..
Thats all for me right now.
Off to finish my Masters work x

Strawberry Picking ..... mmmmmm

It was so nice to have the day off today.  I have been working heaps atm as we are down a few staff members.  I got to sleep in, get all my housework and washing done, went and took Corey to Aussie world but it was closing soon after we there, then we went and picked some deliciously juicy local strawberries.  Corey loves this.  I loved just hanging out with them and not rushing to do anything except be together.

Im pretty happy with these photos today.. I am slowly getting used to my camera.  It's not a hugely technical camera... LOL but I loved my Panasonic Lumix one which I had for nearly 4 years.  This is a wee bit different as you get your depth of field and macro nicely but its a matter of knowing what you are doing too.  I'll just keep playing.
I hope you all had a great weekend.
I have finished 2.5 projects out of 4 of my SBM Masters for 2012 so I'm pretty happy so far.  Will go and do a bit more tonight.
Love to all

No time!

Well geez I cannot believe how fast time flies.  I have just had 10 days on my own while my boys did a camping, fishing and boating trip right up the top of Australia with 3 other days and 3 other sons.  They went to Kurumba and had freshly caught salmon and snapper and cod for dinner most nights finishing off with a few toasted marshmallows off the beach bon fire they had each night.  You would think I would sit back and chill out and enjoy the time out for myself but I worked 8 days out of the 10 and I had my fav second family stay with me for the other two.  I did the house work the night before they left and it was hilarious each morning as I would wake up to the same clean plate and coffee cup I had used the night before ... I reused it again the next night.. bla bla bla.... My groceries for the ten days cost me $48 and I had one load of washing.. Bliss... I was able to get home from work at 6pm have a shower, and get straight into bed with a bowl of yogurt and fruit for dinner, turn on the TV, crack open my macbook, plug in my iPhone and I was set in and comfy for a night alone...But in saying all of that I was stuffed from work, and I enjoyed the time that I could take advantage of just feeling lazy.  I must admit I spent a few hours just pondering over interest.. which I never get to do.
I have also been knitting.. I have got 57 squares of my crochet blanket done... and Im a bit bored with it so I have decided to put it aside just for now and have a change of wool and needles.. so I have started to knit a cool Hoodie zip up jacket with pockets for myself... It is very cool and is as soft as a babys bum.  Not sure if I will get it finished this winter.. don't care if I do either.. Im just enjoying knitting it.  I haven't knitted anything for 15 years.  Then I will pick up the hook again and finish my remaining approx 80 squares I need to have to have a complete blanket for my boys.
Along with this I have started my work for the Masters 2012.  Im going to give it another shot.  3rd year... but 2 years with honours so that is cool.  I love the challenge.. but I must admit this year Im a bit fuzzy headed as I have to do a canvas..... So the ideas I have are sooo unlimited... I am not quite sure where to start.  I have some great ideas.... but will keep sketching as I gather my thoughts.
Anyway.... I am off to do something or one of the above....
Love my nights to myself to do my creative stuff
Love to all you girls who read my blog
Moonie... xxx
