Way out West

Long over due for a girly weekend away.  Sadly my friend Monika couldn't end up coming due to stupid virus and head cold.. We went out to Warwick to a great girls place who often comes to our retreats @ Daisy Chain Scrapbooks.  Kim is a great girl and has an amazingly cute family.
There were 5 of us.  Lisa Hayes and I drove out the Esk way and belly laughed all the way.  We stopped off at Esk to this gorgeous quaint Qlder house which was a really neat cafe.  We had home made cauliflower and bacon soup.  To die for.
We arrived there on Friday and had the best weekend.  I did not do one layout but created about 15 cards.  So I have caught up on my card stash for now.

From back left is Lisa Hayes (AKA Moooo), Me (AKA Moonie), Kimmeeeee herself, then in the front left is Alaine and then Sheree.

We had way too much food, enjoyed a few drinks at night, ate dinner late cause we could, went to the local markets on Sunday morning.

Here is the cute cafe which is a Qlder home where we had lunch in Esk... Mmmmm
Apparently they have the best ever coffee too.

The beautiful church I fell in love with.  Soo pretty in real life.

Nice to get away.. but so nice to get home.  I miss my hubby so much when I go away... and my son... well he is just the best... I had dinner cooked for me when I got home and a nice hot bath ready..
Thats all for me right now.
Off to finish my Masters work x

Strawberry Picking ..... mmmmmm

It was so nice to have the day off today.  I have been working heaps atm as we are down a few staff members.  I got to sleep in, get all my housework and washing done, went and took Corey to Aussie world but it was closing soon after we there, then we went and picked some deliciously juicy local strawberries.  Corey loves this.  I loved just hanging out with them and not rushing to do anything except be together.

Im pretty happy with these photos today.. I am slowly getting used to my camera.  It's not a hugely technical camera... LOL but I loved my Panasonic Lumix one which I had for nearly 4 years.  This is a wee bit different as you get your depth of field and macro nicely but its a matter of knowing what you are doing too.  I'll just keep playing.
I hope you all had a great weekend.
I have finished 2.5 projects out of 4 of my SBM Masters for 2012 so I'm pretty happy so far.  Will go and do a bit more tonight.
Love to all

No time!

Well geez I cannot believe how fast time flies.  I have just had 10 days on my own while my boys did a camping, fishing and boating trip right up the top of Australia with 3 other days and 3 other sons.  They went to Kurumba and had freshly caught salmon and snapper and cod for dinner most nights finishing off with a few toasted marshmallows off the beach bon fire they had each night.  You would think I would sit back and chill out and enjoy the time out for myself but I worked 8 days out of the 10 and I had my fav second family stay with me for the other two.  I did the house work the night before they left and it was hilarious each morning as I would wake up to the same clean plate and coffee cup I had used the night before ... I reused it again the next night.. bla bla bla.... My groceries for the ten days cost me $48 and I had one load of washing.. Bliss... I was able to get home from work at 6pm have a shower, and get straight into bed with a bowl of yogurt and fruit for dinner, turn on the TV, crack open my macbook, plug in my iPhone and I was set in and comfy for a night alone...But in saying all of that I was stuffed from work, and I enjoyed the time that I could take advantage of just feeling lazy.  I must admit I spent a few hours just pondering over interest.. which I never get to do.
I have also been knitting.. I have got 57 squares of my crochet blanket done... and Im a bit bored with it so I have decided to put it aside just for now and have a change of wool and needles.. so I have started to knit a cool Hoodie zip up jacket with pockets for myself... It is very cool and is as soft as a babys bum.  Not sure if I will get it finished this winter.. don't care if I do either.. Im just enjoying knitting it.  I haven't knitted anything for 15 years.  Then I will pick up the hook again and finish my remaining approx 80 squares I need to have to have a complete blanket for my boys.
Along with this I have started my work for the Masters 2012.  Im going to give it another shot.  3rd year... but 2 years with honours so that is cool.  I love the challenge.. but I must admit this year Im a bit fuzzy headed as I have to do a canvas..... So the ideas I have are sooo unlimited... I am not quite sure where to start.  I have some great ideas.... but will keep sketching as I gather my thoughts.
Anyway.... I am off to do something or one of the above....
Love my nights to myself to do my creative stuff
Love to all you girls who read my blog

Loving Collages

While in Mackay on holidays I got to spend a couple of days with one of my best friends and her two little ones.  This is Ebony and she is the most cutest little wee thing who really took a shine to Corey.  She followed him everywhere and he started to share his ice block with her.  She loved it more than he expected her to so we got her her very own one.  She was a joy to watch as the ice block was too heavy for her and it kept falling to the left and the right as she tried to put it in her mouth LOL... was toooo cute.

I have actually put this together for this months "Scrap the Girls" Challenge which is pretty easy...
The criteria is using an OUTSIDE PHOTO that has been taken outside.  Pretty easy hey?  So I was thinking... this is a perfect couple of photos.  So here is my take on the June Challenge.

I have used:
Simple Stories - Fabulous Paper
Echo Park - This n That Element Stickers
Sequins
Hand made Calico Flower by Leanne Bishop
Grace Taylor Die cut flower
Lace
Crate Paper - Emmas Shoppe "girl" sticker

That's all for this Wednesday night... Im busting to watch my weekly favourite...OFFSPRING... Such a classic nutty show.

Our Heroes

Ever since I can remember Corey has loved going to the Anzac Day March.  He is a very passionate boy when it comes to Anzac Day and what our diggers did for our country.  Pop... which is Corey's Pop, my DH Father served in the war and was on the front line.  Pop has all his medals but unfortunatly when Pop passed away 2 years ago, they all went to his other Grandson who served 17 years in the Navy.  We are hoping to one day get to keep one for Corey to keep as a very precious gift Corey would love to have.
I get very emotional on Anzac Day myself and cannot hold back the tears watching these folk doing the March and what they went through. Along with everyone there were many tears.  I got a few great shots of the march and put them together in a double layout for Corey's album.

Big list of product in this one so I won't put it all down.  Love the paper I have used. Perfect for the occasion I thought.
Thanks for stopping in and leaving me some love.

Paper Craft Expo - Brisbane

Well I have just come home from Brisbane after spending 2 nights with some great girls who I love spending time with.  It is the one long weekend I really look forward to.  We normally stay down there for 3 or 4 nights but this time I only got 2 days down there due to work commitments.  But I got there and we all had a blast.  Got to see lots of my online friends and the inspiration down there was just outstanding.
A bit draw card this year was the Mr TIM HOLTZ himself was there and had his own stall doing his awesome creations.  I could sit there for hours and hours and watch and listen to that legend of a man.
There were lots of stalls and lots of bargains to have.. mind you you did had to do a bit of a shop around as the prices varied.  I didn't spend too much and I honestly didn't stay that long this year...I did get a Day Lamp.. the stand up one for the lounge which I have been wanting for a couple of years now.  Unbelievable price!!!!  I was happy to see a few people that I did bump into and then go shopping in the Queen Street Mall with Monika.  We had lots of fun and got so many bargains.
Then we finished our day by calling into Westfield Chermside for some lunch and more shopping.. Mind you I love window shopping too.  I get very inspired and get lots of ideas for things.
I hope you all had a great weekend and if you went to the show I hope you had a good time too.
Off to see my baby girl tomorrow after work.  She is in Brisbane Airport for 4 hours on her way home from Orange... so I am flying down there after work tomorrow to spend that quality time with her.
Love to you all

Love Life

No matter who we are or where we are we will all as humans have our own issues and good and bad journeys through our lives.  Without this this would not be life !!!
I am at a really happy stage of my life and have been for a few years now.  I can't complain.  I have an awesome hubby, cool kids who I love dearly and are my absolute loves in my life... I have a wonderful home, job, family, Mum who makes me laugh now when we are on Skype and lastly.... I love where we live.  I feel so blessed to wake up most mornings and hit Mooloolaba beach and go for my coffee hit in my favourite cafe before work or the gym.  I love our sunshine and cooler weather at the moment.  When I watch telly and see the gangs over seas and the bad news around the world with all the killings and nastiness I just think we are soooo rich in freedom.
I have also been on a happy healthy weight loss journey over the past 3 months and have lost 10kg.  Soo at my goal weight I was at 8 years ago.  And I feel awesome.  I get soo many compliments all the time on my loss it makes me dance inside.  I was in the right frame of mind one morning when I jumped out of bed and said.. Today is the day.. I am making the changes I want.  So now I am just maintaining my weight and will smash another 3-5 in a few weeks.  Just having a break and maintaining it for now.  Have a few treats now and then which is nice.
Im off to see all my favourite girls this weekend in Brisbane at the Paper Craft Expo at Southbank and Im pretty excited.  Me and two other girls have got a hotel room booked to play up and jump on the beds without the kids looking :-)
So I hope you are loving life and just look at what you have and how lucky you are to have the life you have.  Sometimes we get bogged down and can't seem to get our heads out of it... but really... we have it great.
Love to all my friends and followers

Here I am above boom boom.... 10kg too many

Now where I should be

Just in time for winter

Well here is the finished product for those who are not my FB friends... I am super duper happy with the end result and I' so glad I chose the bright colours.  It's cheerful and happy like me.
I have put all my scraps together and made my binding from that.  I love how the binding is all different.  It fits on top of a queen size bed.

I' feeling pretty happy to have finished a few pretty special projects.  Now I think I will spend a few nights browsing through all my favourite blogs and get onto Pinterest.
Take care and rug up everyone.  I have the nasty flu :-(

Charlotte's Dream

Well here is the finished project.  My Ikea storage drawers scrapped to the max using 90% of the delicious Kaiser Craft Charlotte's Dream Collection.  This collection is simply stunning as it has a very romantic soft feminine feel to it.
I have lightly inked up some of the die cuts and when layering the Mod Podge over the stamps it actually smudged the stamps a wee bit.  I didn' know it was going to do this as I've not used Mod Podge before but I soo love the effect that it gave it.  It is a nicely aged look of the music note and script writing.  Love it.

Here is a list of the products I have used.
Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint on the butterfly,
Kaiser Pealrs on the chairs which look a dream (I love dimension),
Girl Paperie ART letter stickers,
Delish brad,
Bee stamp,
Handmade flower by Lee-Anne Bishop,
October Afternoon Cameo Sticker, crocheted doily,
Scrapmatts birdcage
and of course a nice dollop or ten of the amazing Mod Podge.

Happy happy happy with my beautiful trinket box I now have.  I have so many special things I am going to put in here.
Have a beautiful week everyone.. I am looking forward to going to Daisy Chain Scrapbooks on Friday night for my Friday night scrap with the girls.
Love always

Ikea and Kaiser Craft

Ikea is sooo one of my favourite places to shop for the home.. Cheap and funky and miles and miles of selection for the home and kids rooms and nic naks.  I picked up this cute box there 12 months ago and I have been looking at it for months on end but I didn't want to touch it until I come up with exactly what I wanted to do with it.  When I saw this absolutely stunning range from Kaiser Craft.... Charlottes Dream Collection I got my head into gear and got started within 24 hours.  I have just given you a sneak peak.  I have just the top to finish off now.  I am in love with it.  It is all about me and what I love.  It is for no one else but me.  So I have put a lot of me in it and what I love.
I will hopefully finish my project tomorrow night so if I do.. I will post photos.

I have just searched through Ikeas website for the box but they must have deleted the line.  Which is sad as it's a very cool side and nice deep drawers.  Im sure there are other alternative wooden boxes we could use again.
Well off to bed for me.  My husband has been in Melbourne for 5 days, home for one and then off again tomorrow for another 3.  So into bed for snuggles while it is nice and cold.  So glad he supports me in this  beautiful hobby that I have.
Night night to all you special ones out there.. Take care, keep warm and keep up the Vitamin C.
