This is one of my favourite photos of two of my most favourite people.... Friends like these are for life.. Liz and I and Mike become friends 15 years ago in Mackay.. We lived in the same street and we just can't get rid of each other..... When we spent the fortnight in the caravan Liz and Mike and the 3 kids come up and enjoyed a home away from home holiday in our house. I took this picture with the Leme Cam app from my iPhone. I just love the vintage look for this vintage pair.. LOL

I have used Simple Stories paper, Jenni Bowlin buttons which I still adore, Echo Park Times and Seasons paper, Cosmo Cricket Odds and Ends paper, 7 Gypsies Lille paper, Martha Stewart punches.. my favourites again, twine and a bit of double sided foam tape. I have mounted the photo onto some very hard cardboard I had in my stash.

I am looking forward to some cooler weather now.. So over the stinking heat. We have been giving the air con a thrashing over the past month... We're pretty spoilt with our winters so bring it on I say x

Well it has been a long time coming to get us all together to spend this weekend together.. I have 5 I have

awesome friends here with me at home for the weekend scrapping.. But we have not only scrapped.. We have watched a list of fun movies, talked about OMG only what close girls would talk about... sooo many funny and embarrassing conversations... been to Cotton Tree for a delicious brunch this morning, oh... scrapped of course, had a couple of nana naps, deliciously roasted organic chooks, eaten to die for home baked Vanilla slice and lots more...
These girls are so much fun, we have no secrets... anymore LOL... and we have enjoyed all of the above along with our scrapping creations.

I have done really well this weekend.. I have managed to do 3 layouts Im pretty happy with.. Two simple but I do like to do simple now and then. Like a breathe of fresh air.. so here are my two so far and will photograph the third tomorrow morning..

I have used the cute Echo Park Sweet Summertime stickers, Crate Paper - Paper Heart Collection, October Afternoon - School House Collection, Making Memories red Alpha Stickers, October Afternoon Mini Market Stickers, my2angels resin roses, MME Good Day Sunshine paper and a sprinkle of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. This next one is an exceptionally special photo of one of my besties of 15 years. Liz and I and Mike have been friends since Mackay days and we just love our catch ups now that we are all living near each other again. Love the vintage feel to this page... as I am a real vintage girl when it comes to my pages..

Once again Crate Paper just outdo themselves with the absolutely delicious stunning paper they keep bringing out for us guts aches to use and play with. I fell in love with this Paper Heart Collection.
So easy to simple but effective.

Love and miss my baby girl like crazy. She is happy in love with her boy.... so as long as she is living and laughing each and every day..... what more could a doting Mumma like me want for her daughter.

I'm Hooked :-)

Well it has been so long since I have blogged. I have a new iMac and having the time to learn to do all what I am so used to doing on my laptop... well it takes time. So I have really been avoiding blogging and posting stuff up elsewhere except FB of course... as I have worked that out to be easy.

I have been working lots since I started and I am loving my job like you wouldn't believe. I feel so so blessed to be working amongst my passion and lovely people. There are some great girls there which makes the day enjoyable.

We had 2 weeks at the beach in our caravan. I promised myself that by the end of the two weeks I would be able to crochet a square.... I spent 10 nights and at least 2 hours a night which included a few throws of the crochet hook... blood, sweat and tears.. and not to mention a few indecent words thrown in there at myself.. but LOOK... I got there... hehehehhehehehehe

I am pretty happy with myself as I have always wanted to learn how to crochet and it has been one of my goals for the past 12 months to learn to do. These are the colours of the blanket I am doing for Corey and Daddy.... I will back it with a blending colour. My hubby can't believe it has taken me 2 weeks to do this... I smashed him ( giggle)

So the race is on... to get this finished as I have two other requests to make Granny Square Blankets. By the time I am ready to make mine.. I will hopefully know all the right stitches and patterns to make a really unique one for myself.

Few and far between

My scrapping room has now become the CRAFT room. I have my overlocker, sewing machine, paints, quilts, basket of wool plus my scrapping in here now and I am ever so overwhelmed with it all. No wonder I can't sleep at night time. I have been trying to get 9 large cushion covers made to put on my day bed, along with a few requests for baby quilts too. So as much as I love my scrapping, Im not finding that I have as much time to do it as I want. But I was in my element for the last two nights putting one together. This is what I did. I have used Crate Paper - Random Collections, Rima Annalee Collectiion, Prima Alphabet stickers which are really cool. They feel like canvas. And my gorgeous cluster is thanks to my2angels. I have used lots of Tracys wee stash of flowers and a chipboard flourish which I have inked up using Silver ink. Of course a Martha Stewart punch... my ever so favourite punches. The cute as bird up on the top left hand side is front the House of Three paper.

Here is a close up of the journalling which I so believe in. My life is not what I thought it would be 14 years ago. I have been through so much, moved 8 times in the past 10 years, made a mile of friends through scrapbooking, got my second child after 12 years of being incapable of falling pregnant..... so yep, you just have to go with life and take what it hands out.

Love to all you girls out there who read my blog. I wish I knew who you all were as I would love to meet sooo many of you.

Honorable Mentions Masters 2011

This is my second year at giving the Scrapbooking Memories Masters a go.

I did not manage to become a Master but the girls who did certainly had full on amazing work. You never know what the judges are looking for as the work and styles they chose are so far from different from each other. There is such a wide variety of work that is submitted each year and I love looking in detail at what each one of the girls submit.

This is the layout that I got honourable mentions for. The criteria on this layout was we had to use some memoribilia of some sort that means a lot to us. I used this photo. I only have two of my sister and I when we were little wee ones and these are two that were taken by a studio photographer way back 20 or so years ago.. LOL Mum said to me I just laughed and laughed at the photographer. Would have been fun to see a video of that time.

Anyway here it is. I was pretty happy with the end result.

It's a pretty special layout to me and I have put it on a 12 x 12 canvas for my wall.

Well done to all the winners and I am looking forward to the next round later this year.

Card Making

I have used the 6x6 Kaiser Craft Vintage Timeless paper pad to make some of these cards. The other paper I used was Echo Parks Times & Seasons. Love the vintage feel of all of these papers. It was a gift to someone who has everything.

I have not really had the time to scrap lately and it is really getting to me. I love my scrapping and I love creating pages... but I have so many other projects sitting in my scrapping room looking at me with a smile on their dial so I have been doing some sewing and trying to learn how to crochet a granny square blanket. I have all the wool and it is pretty exciting. Cant wait to get going with it.

Kaiser Craft Madam Boutique

Well I am all ready for the BIG FAT GUY IN RED.... Are you too?? With working so much lately and fitting in the Christmas get togethers and housework and time for the family and also not to forget learning my new iMac.. there has not been a lot of time left to do what I love to do at night time. I am so buggered.. I am only getting to do about a layout a week atm and not to mention how much of a slow scrapper I am.

but anyway this is what I have put together this week.

I looove this Kaisercraft Range Madam Boutique. It is so vintagy yet so full of colour and happiness. I just love it. I have used American Craft thickers, Collections locket and printed tissue paper, Kaiser Resin flowers, Kaiser Wooden Scallop circles , Kaiser Flowers, my2angels leaves, The Greatest View Crocheted flower (yum yum)

I do plan to make a few more copic cards over the next few nights. Love making them and putting them together and of course they are a good seller...

Masters submission 2011

This was a second submission for Masters 2011. The criteria for this layout was a simple 5x7 photo. I had fun creating this layout as we had so much fun when taking these photos. We were on my God Parents dairy farm in Hamilton NZ. Corey wanted to go and milk the cows but suddenly got cold feet when he saw just how much poop was coming from the Mumma cows during milking.

Masters submission 2011

So here goes... Not very good at this iMac yet... but I have managed to resize and upload one of my layouts I submitted for Masters 2011. The criteria for this layout was there had to be hidden journalling in there somewhere. See the little pink envelope to the right... well inside there is journalling that I wrote about my daughter in this picture with me. I loved putting this together as I am a very pink person but don't often use pink in a layout.

I will try and upload the others for you.

Exciting news for me!!!

I have just had a few emails tonight congratulating me on my Honorable Mentions in the Scrapbooking Memories Masters of 2011. I gave it my first shot last year and got 2 HM out of my 3 submissions so I was pretty well stoked. I got one this year and I am wrapped.
I am hoping to find out how to upload from my pictures to my blog an easy way and when I do I will be posting them to share with you all.
Congrats to all the clever and very talented girls out there who are 2012 Masters...!!!!! Woohooo for you all. What an honour !!

Kaiser Craft Advent Calendar

Well here I am and I have not blogged for a while. I have jumped the fence and got myself and iMac and and iPad. My trustily laptop died on my and I am sick to death of paying out for expensive laptops just don't go the mile. I know I will enjoy it when I know how to use it properly. It has taken me about 2 weeks to get it all set up with contacts and bookmarks etc..... hence why I have not blogged. Learning how to play with photos also has been challenging.
So here I decided to have a go at this cute as Advent Calendar. It comes in a kit. Raw unpainted wood pieces, letters, flat boxes and that is it. I have used the gorgeous Kaiser 25th December paper range for the boxes and My Minds Eye Lost and Found Christmas for the inside of the box.. About 2 year old Christmas paper for the trees and a Jenni Bowlin pearl charm. I found it so relaxing doing this. Took me 3 nights which was about 10 hours all up I think. Pity I didn't decide to do it in November for my boy.
I am all ready for Christmas day now. Working right up so I will be looking forward to a day off... but back into it Boxing day

Wedding layout

Kens daughter got married 3 weeks ago and I love this photo of her with her head looking down. It is so beautiful.
This will be a gift for her and I will be putting it on a 12 x 12 canvas for her to hang on her wall.

I have used the beautiful Websters page paper, Prima flower stem, lace, Kaiser pearls, I love this blue pleated ribbon I have used too.. so pretty, Prima Paintable words (SHE), Tim Holtz button and very fine bridal tulle which i have put underneath the photo.

Christmas Card Kits

Check out these gorgeous Christmas cards by my2angles:

I tried to used the same selection of embellishments throughout the cards, keeping the cost and time down

All you need is a few base products to start with:

Simple Stories 25 Days of Christmas Flash Cards ($1.20)

and 10 "5x7"Ivory Greeting Cards (10 for $1.80 and includes the envelopes)

okay so not the best photos from the supplier but you will get their look as we progress

BUT OF COURSE ALL THESE PRICES ARE 25% less due to our SALE

So start by cutting each flash card up into separate pieces

All your back ground pieces of cardstock is 10cm x 14cm (so you can get 6 cards from one sheet of cardstock)

Card 1

Adhere your cardstock and flash card to your card

Tie a bow with Red and White Bakers Twine (I have a thing about mixing cream and white so to remove some of the white I wiped the twine over my Jumbo Java ink
Then add your holly and berries

How to make Holly

Draw your holly on the BACK of a piece of green cardstock, it doesn't have to be perfect. Cut them

Then crease a centreline (outward)

Bend and scrunch holly

Ink the edges and wipe over it to pick up the creases

Then cover with dimensional magic and a sprinkle of diamond dust

To make the berries

Take a variety of sizes of our cabochons

Drop a little bit of dimensional magic to the backs of them and place down onto red cardstock. Push down and swirl the cabochons around the cardstock a little to remove any air bubbles and to spread the dimensional magic around evenly

Once dry cut the cabochons away from the cardstock

CARD 2

Adhere your cardstock and flash card to your card (i did my flash card on an angle)

Tie a bow with Red and White Bakers Twine again inking my twine with Jumbo Java ink

Then add your holly and berry

Card 3

Start with by adhering your black cardstock to your card

Draw a line around your flash card with liquid glue and sprinkle diamond dust over the glue. Once dry (around 5 minutes) adhere to your black cardstock.

Cut two 4.5cm stripes of our black acrylic chain with rhinestones . Tape with 3mm tape or liquid glue to top left hand corner then add our large snowflakes (with liquid glue)

Glue one of our Snowmen charms to the bottom right hand corner of the flash card

Card 4

Adhere black cardstock to card

Using liquid glue add one of our Joy Wreaths to highlight the 25th

Using either 3mm tape or liquid glue attach a strip of our black acrylic chain with rhinestones to just below the flash card

Card 5

Ink the edges with Spanish Olive VersaMagic ink

Take one of our gardenias from the Heritage pack and apply liquid glue to some of the edges and dip into your diamond dust

Once glue has dried, place gardenia in centre of our new Flower Filigaree

Tape down 4 Metallic Gold Skeleton leaves then adhere the flower to the centre

Card 6

Cut piece of Scarlett Coredinations Cardstock , ink edges black and adhere to card

Adhere flash card to the centre of your cardstock

Add strip of black acrylic chain with rhinestones to top of the flash card

Adhere Black Merry Christmas Charming Chain with liquid glue. When dry, tie a bow from the top loop of charming chain with Red and White Bakers Twine (this time I wiped the twine with black ink)

Card 7

Cut piece of French Roast Coredinations Cardstock, Distress the edges of cardstock then adhere to card

Add strip of Brown Acrylic Chain with Rhinestones just above scalloped border on flash card

Adhere 2011 Christmas Bauble (I have inked my bauble with Spanish Olive VersaMagic ink, again its the white and cream thing!)

When dry, tie a bow from the top loop of charming chain with Red and White Bakers Twine

Card 8

Adhere your cardstock to card

Colour in a present charm with stickles (I say do this first as stickles take a while to dry)

Draw a line around your flash card with liquid glue and sprinkle diamond dust over the glue. Once dry (around 5 minutes) adhere to your cardstock.

Once both stickles and diamond dust is dry attach to layout

Card 9

Adhere cardstock and flash card to your card

Cut piece of red acrylic chain with rhinestones and adhere to flash card using liquid glue or 3mm tape

Adhere 2011 Christmas Bauble (I have inked my bauble with Spanish Olive VersaMagic ink, again its the white and cream thing!)

Card 10

Adhere your cardstock to card

Draw a line around your flash card with liquid glue and sprinkle diamond dust over the glue. Once dry (around 5 minutes) adhere to your cardstock. (leave a gap without diamond dust at the top for your filigree)

Using liquid glue or 3mm tape add a piece of red acrylic chain with rhinestones to above the banner on the flash card

Add the filigree and one piece from the red acrylic chain with rhinestones

Card 11

Adhere cardstock and flash card to your card

Tie Red and White Bakers Twine around the bottom of flash card with our Christmas Sleigh Charm

Card 12

Adhere cardstock and flash card to your card

Adhere strip of brown acrylic rhinestone chain to just above the scallop on the flash card.

With red organza ribbon tie the extra dangle from the Merry Christmas Charming Chain around the reindeer charm neck and using liquid glue AND foam tape attach him to the card

Here is another quick one I did using our lollipop charm with stickles

Simple Stories Paper Collection

I love this Simple Stories range.. It is sort of vintage but with gorgeous soft colors in it as well. I put this together with no problem and loved playing with it. It is very versatile and would look great with any picture. This photo was taken at the Art Museum in Brisbane. This table is hugely long filled with white lego. Corey had a ball and we sat there for about an hour.

Silly Season is here!!

Well it is obvious I am not keeping up with everything on my agenda now that I am working again. I am loving my job at Spotlight. I live and breathe art and creative stuff so I am in my element. I am often down the isles licking all the products I love .... lol.... seriously... that was a joke.
I am not scrapping as much as I want to be... but all in moderation. I now have to fit in quilting, sewing I have now taken up again, exercise, work, my coffee dates which I dearly miss, my housework, me time and family time. It gets pretty full on most of the time. But I dont think I would have it any other way.. Im hopelessly devoted to life!!
So..... in the past two weeks I have bought myself a new ipad and an imac. I have just about transfered all data over from my laptop, but now learning the get around the imac. Very different for me atm... but once I have all in place where I want it.. i will be fine.. What am I on now.... still my laptop. I am so attached to it still.
I went to the Gold Coast a week ago and did a great class at my2angels. I picked up my friend Alaine in Brisbane and we had a great day together. It was great to learn some techniques using Tim Holtz products. Here is what we did. It is very grungy and a great masculine layout.

As you can see I have used Tim Holtz crackle paint and then let it dry. Then rubbed darker ink over the top of the dryed crackle paint to grunge u the color of blue. The backing sheet is actually a pizza box and we have just pulled a bit of the top layer off in some places to show the corrigated look of the pizza box.

We used Tim Holtz distress stain to color these cogs. Roughly sandpapered them , used a Ranger Embossing pen and randomly used it over the cogs.. sprinkled Ranger embossing powder over it and took to the heat gun. How cool is that look. I love it.

I did the same with this Steampunk cog. Used the Embossing pen, embossing powder and then applied the heat gun to it for this finished cool effect.

So there you go.. go and do something a bit different. This is way out of my comfort zone.. but this is also where you learn new things and can use it different ways to suit yourself.

Enchanted with Bo Bunny

Quilt finished...

I would love to say that my quilt is finished...... but I madly started one for Ken's first Grandchild a week ago. OMG.... I have not been so stressed to get something finished in such a long time like I did with this. Nevaeh is now born and is 4 days old. She is a beautiful wee thing. Only 6lb and soo tiny but a healthy little girl. Nevaeh is HEAVEN spelt backwards.

Here is the quilt that I gave her today.

I had to throw in this random photo of my crazy girl.... snuck into the Gym @ the Resort when the wedding was..... hahahaha

And the Wedding card I made for Tammie. I have had this wedding dress since I started scrapping. Not really the thing I put on layouts but I didn't have the heart to throw it out.. New I would use it one of these days.

Martha Stewart punch, inked up edges and the 6x6 paper pad I have is divine. I just forget what it is. Wait til I get home and i will look again.

Back to my Queen size quilt when I get home. Nearly nearly there.. i am half way through machine quilting it now. Then just the binding.

Soo busy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I cant believe it has been 3 weeks since I have done a layout. I over committed myself the past 3 weeks. I know I go like the clappers.... but this was stupid. I had so much on my plate and just starting work again.... well I spose you could say I just over did it. But I achieved all that I set myself to and that is the main thing I guess.
My husband has twins. 24 yr old girl and boy. Well the boy had his first child and Ken's first Grandchild on Thursday... and then his Daughter got married 600km away the day after. So it has been a full on few days away. It was great. Typical twins... this was not planned to be so close together... but next year the bub will turn one.. the day after it will be the daughters first wedding anniversary and the day after that will be the sons wedding anniversary also. Bang, bang, bang.
Quite ironic really.
We had a lovely time in Yeppoon at the Wedding. My daughter Danielle was a bridesmaid so it was extra extra special that I got to see her. It has been 5 months since we have seen each other and I miss her so bad all the time. We had a great time together and still best ever friends.
So here are a few pics of the special day.

All good things come to an end. Back home in the morning and off to work tomorrow afternoon. I have a bit of scrapping to catch up on now but I am looking forward to it after having a break and get back to Daisys in Nambour .

My bestie who I miss sooo much x

We only get to see each other about once or maybe twice a year... been soul mates for 13 years... been there for each other through and though and I can honestly say we will be besties for the rest of our lives. This is when I was up North just about 3 months ago. We had a ball together and as you can imagine our mouths did not stop. Soo much to catch up on.

In this layout I have used Lily Bee Design paper, Cosmo Cricket Tiny Text words, Lily Bee Design chipboard stickers, Authentique letters, MME - Lost and Found brad, pegs, twine, thread and Bella Paper Doll - tokens paper and a scrapware bodice.

Love the yellow for a change.

Crazy love for life!

I have had the best weekend with my boys. We had no plans all weekend so we indulged in this gorgeous weather that has been put on for us. Corey and I went to the part @ Mooloolaba Spit yesterday and had a picnic. We felt so lazy as the weather was just perfect to lay on the blanket in the shade and chat together. Daddy was on beach patrol so we met him after that at 5.30 with a packed BBQ and a cold alcoholic beverage. We are so so blessed for where we get to spend every single day. I just love it here on the Sunny Coast. I do miss my best friends from up north but you cant have everything x

I also got to scrap some of my own layouts this weekend. I have just finished doing up kits for A Craft Affair in Townsville who I design kits for. So this weekend I just played with older papers that I love but haven't used yet.

I have used the gorgeous funky 7 Gypsies Lille Collection paper, Echo Park - for the Record paper, Scrapware chipboard frame which I have trimmed down, Jenni Bowlin pearl charm, Making Memories clear button, Tim Holtz ornate plate, Pink Paislee chipboard button, Sizzix Tattered Flowers, Tim Holtz Ideaology Game pieces and a couple of strips of ribbon.

Fun fun.... I love vintage pages..

Prima Paper

There is something in a Mothers heart that one cannot really explain... but my girl left home 18 months ago and I still have this massive VOID in my heart and life with her gone. I cant quite explain it.. but it goes something like this.

She was my best friend.. and still is of course

We would dress up together and just be full on crazy and laugh

We finally got to share each others clothes, make up, hair accessories, do each others hair, we were the same size in shoes so say no more

We have the most amazing open relationship any Mum would want with her Daughter

She has the utmost respect for me

We never fought

She never ever gave me any grief.. didn't even go through a bad teenage time

And of course she is my one and only GIRL!!

Since she has gone.. I have kept so busy with work and my scrapping and basically just going full on all the time.. but I do know I have many many moments when I just STOP.. and there it is... The deep, sad, knot in the stomach and throat feeling of her probably never living with me again to do all these things.. I know it is known as the circle of life.. but man it is a hard one.

Just thought I would share. And next to her is her wee soul mate Bonnie.. She is like a Daughter to me and called me nothing but Mummy x Bless their wee hearts

Friday Night @ Daisys

This first layout using the My Minds Eye... Lost and Found collection.. I put together the red paper on top of the backing paper. Then I was stuck. I put it away and this was about a year ago. I have looked and looked at it... but it was just one of those layouts I was just totally stuck on. Last night I found it in my stash of papers and I pulled it out as I thought my photo suited the paper... and whaalaa... I finally finished it. I'm pretty happy the finished result.

I cannot believe how critical my son is getting... He loves to see my layouts in the morning.. especially when they are of him.. He woke up this morning and said... "Mmmm Mummy that is not one of your better ones is it???" I was like...."Ummmm why is that?" " Mmmm just isnt soo technical??? "

So then I thought, well he is exactly right you know.. I'm glad he takes an interest in what I spend so many hours on. Im sure he will appreciate them so much more too when he has his own family and children to show.. Look what your old Nana did for me when I was a wee whippa!!!

This is a fun layout that I put together using the cute as Fancy Pants To the Moon Collection.

It's the perfect paper for any boy layouts. The papers are so wonderfully bright and cheerful and will brighten up any bedroom on a canvas. I am thinking of doing up a birthday present on a canvas for a wee boy for his room.

Just added a few rhinestones, buttons, ribbon, Teresa Collins brad, Bakers Twine, Thickers number and hand drew a cloud and put it through the cuttlebug.

Graphic 45 ABC Prima

When I opened this box of goodies from Tracy my smile was so huge... I just love the new Graphic 45 ABC Prima range. I love the gorgeous colors of it. So vintage yet so clean and neat too.

There are so many things you can do with this range of paper as there are great size tags and pictures on them which you can quite easily put together a very special book for that loved one for a present. I am hoping to put one together for my daughter of her younger years.

I decided to step out of the square and not use this paper for a school layout as most people do. It does also in the hugest way represent CHILDREN...!! So it can be for any children's play photos.

I have only used 3 pieces of this delish Prima range:

I have inked up the edges of the cute wee tags using the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Frayed Burlap. This adds the perfect vintage look to your paper and is the perfect color for these vintage pages. To add more boy flavor to the page I have played with this cog by inking it up with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Black Soot and then used a clear Embossing ink pad and dabbed it lightly and unevenly over the cog, got out my Embossing powder and put the heat gun to it. Lastly I have added a smiggin of Ranger Clear Rock Candy to give it another dimension and effect. This process is dead easy but its always a surprise just how it is going to come out. I cant seem to plan what it is going to come out like.... That is the fun with embossing!! For my little embelly in the corner I have added a small piece of Tim Holtz film strip.

Love this stuff...

Don't you just dig my cute as Felt boy... He is the free gift for last month. Corey thinks he rocks!!

Lastly I have added 4 of my favorite buggy car charms... I rather like them as they are.. Look like they are going broom broooom around the clog.. Tracy has got a great stash of cute Bakers Twine. A tiny $1.10 for 5 whole metres...Love this stuff.. Its so cute.

So get your kids fun learning photos out.. Any learning is all you need.. See Corey is seriously learning how to cut fellow drivers off in the Dodgem cars.. Hehehehe

Las Vegas

I have many pictures to scrap of our holiday in Nevada a few years ago. After moving down here from up North I was on my own with the kids and running our newly built motel for 6 months while Ken was still up north running the pub..... we certainly needed some "us" time. So we went to Nevada and did 14 days over there and went to so many places and traveled many miles in a rented 4WD. I sure want to go back and we will some day soon.

I have used the new released Boarding Pass collection by October Afternoon. I love this range. So cool and I love the bright colors.

These are the stickers and look how funky they are. I love them all. I will surely be getting more than one layout out of this page.

So here is what I come up with. Scoooze me I have spelt Nevada incorrect so I will have to redo that. Love the camera. I have used Teresa Collins On the Edge brad in the camera lense, cuttle bug using swiss dots, bakers twin , Kaiser Craft Flourish Pack - Hanging Plaque, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Fired brick and Ranger clear rock candy. Papers all October Afternoon except a small amount of My Minds Eye Lost and Found 2 - Breeze. A small tear of Tim Holtz Nostalgic Tissue tape.

I had fun putting this together.

That's all from me today.. I have had a great day so far... 8km walk, Nippers training with my boy, a new bikini, then home to clean the pool after our horrific cyclonic wind we had last night.... followed by a well earned swim and sun bake by the pool.

Camera House AGM 2012

Each year Camera House pick a random part of the world to have their 1/2 yearly AGM. Next year it is..... SHANGHAI, CHINA

I am pretty excited as the three of us will be traveling over there for 10 or so days. It will be my first visit to China and I have only heard great things about it over here. Corey is a fantastic traveler and enjoys trying the different foods that are available in other countries. He eats curries that are too hot for me so he will be right.

Off to Sydney in 4 weeks for the Camera House AGM. We go here every year at this time of the year and we really look forward to the 5 days in Darling Harbour. Mind you ... we are always so happy and grateful to get back here to the coast where we live and go swimming in the surf and play with the sand. I couldn't live in a city. I would hate it. Love the freedom being near the beach.

Reinkers

So apart from reinkers being used to refil your distress ink pads there are a few other uses for them:

You can make your own Glimmer Mist as mentioned last year on our blog (thanks to our Guest DT at the time ... Sandra Wilkinson)

To make your own glimmer Mist you will need

1 mini mister (or small spray bottle)

Distress Reinkers

Perfect Pearls

Water

Drop a WHOLE dropper fill of reinker into your spray bottle

Add small scoop of Perfect Pearls (small amount on the end of a paddle pop stick)

then fill your mister with water BUT not to the top as you need a small gap to be able to shake and mix it.

Easy peasy you now have glimmer Mist (after of course you have shaken it up)

Or make multi coloured stamps

You will need a make up pad or baby wipe, reinkers of your choice and a stamp

Starting with your DARKEST ink first

(Vintage Photo)

Then filling in the gaps with your lighter ink (Broken China)

Then stamp onto the ink and apply to your layout, tag, card or whatever you are stamping

Or you can try more than 2 colours

Here I used Vintage Photo, Broken China then finishing off with Antique Linen reinkers

(I tried it on a serviette which worked BUT it doesn't stay wet for long so a make up pad or wet ones are the best to use)

Stamped with Alla Prima Clear Stamp Printed Background onto a Tim Holtz Manilla tag

And once I started I couldn't stop trying out colour combinations.

So go on... go and have a play and see what you come up with.

I have had a lovely quiet week this week after getting home from our week away at the beach. It has been nice to be at home and rearrange the house, clean out clothes and even get some of my own scrapping done.

Today I had a play withe one of my favorite designers "Crate Paper"...mmmmm this Random Collection is super duper cute. I have only used 3 pieces of paper and the cute Chipboard Accents which contains about 50 or so chippies.. they are so yummy too.

I have used a Martha Stewart punch, Making Memories felt leaves, a button and scrappers floss. Oh and a gorgeous Doily from Gail Lindners Etsy store .

Pretty much the rest is all Crate Paper.

My new Wheels

Well after not being able to jam all my scrapbooking supplies in my car every Friday night, Ken decided to buy me a new car. It is a groovy car with loads of space, boot space to stand up my trolley and tote in it, easy cruise control, comfy plus seats, has lots of get up and go and is more quiet and luxurious than I imagined. Ken was very happy with my choice as he did not see that car til I bought it home.

One more full day here in our beach world.. loving it so much. We have played scrabble every night since being here. Lots of fun with Corey.

It is absolutely to die for.. so protected, can sit on the beach and watch the whales and dolphins playing in the water, the sand is white as snow, the water is safe and it is not crowded.. very family friendly. If you can you should get here one of these days. Takes 5 minutes from Tweed Heads off the M1

Another day in paradise

We did pretty well not much today..... had a sleep in, lay on the beach and swam in the water for about 1 and a half hrs, back to the van to play on my laptop, then went for a walk to the light house and this is what we saw.... truly a magnificent place to be staying at.
These rocks were like they were built like this... truly amazing.

The sand here is so white and clean.. Reminds me of the Whitsunday Islands. Just beautiful. It is so nice to be away from shops and business. The thing I love here is that everyone is so friendly, the caravan park basically has no rules for kids like other van parks do.. they can ride bikes and scooters etc in the park. I love seeing kids be kids. Nice to see them all out playing on bikes together instead of computers and any screens as such. There is nothing like old traditional fun.. you just can't beat it.

Movie World

Ken woke us up yesterday morning and said.. let's get up ... we are going to Movie World for the day.. Corey did not shut up the whole time til we got there.. Ohhh to be a kid again and be so excited about something like that.. I remember clearly the feeling of such excitement. He was so impressed with it all there. I love the feeling of the adrenalin pumping and when Danielle and I are together we have a blast on all the big scary rides. Ken's tops for adrenalin is the bumper cars or the carousal. We decided to go on the Scooby Doo Ghost train ride... the 3 of us that was.. Well I'm so glad we didn't check the sign as there would be no way Ken would have got on it. It was totally spooky and awesome. It was like a not so high but just as fast roller coaster.. Fast as corners and all black inside. Poor Ken.... his heart was pumping so hard and the look on his face was priceless... especially when it decided to go just as fast backwards and down hill....OMG!!!!!!
Corey was scared too but wanted to do it all over again when we were out.

The parade they had was fantastic. All the characters have such a cool job.. although I wouldn't like to be dressed like them in the summer. Austin Powers was such a laugh.. He kept driving this thing fast and then stalling it and slamming on his breaks when he saw a hot chicki... nearly crashing into the Bat Mobile in front..

Looove this painted wall. They boys were having fun... and so typical.... look at them pretending to do a wee... LOL

Ken and I cannot believe the length of Corey's legs... he loved it in the dodgem cars.

These guys were cool. Scooby Doo is so much fun.. I still love watching his show.

Classic photo.. I have one of Danielle and I in this same pose when I took her when she was 4. Was a great day full of entertainment. Ken decided to buy us all year passes for the 3 of us so we will be making more trips down here to go to Sea World and White Water World... I think this is the other one we get to go to. So now it will only cost us a tank of fuel for the day. Great deal. $120 each and it expires June 2012.

Our Fingal Heads retreat on the beach

We have packed up the caravan, push bikes, sunscreen, hats, magazines, laptop, no hair dryer, no make up, a bucket for clothes washing and some music for one bliss week of fun in the sun and time out from our busy every day life. It is just so awesome to get back to basics and turn everything off and also switch off from the busy lives we all lead. It is crazy and stupid how we all just are constantly rushing in today's world. I am doing a daily walk in bare feet along the beach which I clocked today using my cool imap app on my iPhone. It clocks your distance, calories burnt and time it takes you. It also stores every work out you do so you can compare and try and beat your last train. While this is clicking over I was listening to my music and also taking these amazing photos. Gooo the iPhone!!! Later when it is not so warm and full on sun I am going to ride my bike into Kingscliffe which I am not sure what the distance is. Ken rode in this morning while I was still getting my much needed beauty sleep. It is about 8km I am gathering. I will clock this too. Such a great caravan park.
Right on the beach, all the kids are playing together.. havent seen Corey since this morning, it is a park where kids can actually ride their bikes, scooters and roller blades without being told off. There is nothing but a corner store and fish and chip shop here and the beach.
Everyone gets to the beach about 4 or 5 to sit on the beach as it is HAPPY HOUR :-) Anyway, I am off as we are going to go and explore the beach, the boys are going fishing and the rest of the day...ummm... not much. Take care and I hope you are all enjoying the school holidays too.

My Family Layout

This is the thing I love about scrapping. I have found these photos in my stash.. I love to spend moments by myself remembering these days and moments. The top photo of Corey was our first week at Nambour when we moved down.. We took Corey to the Big Pineapple and looked at all the farm animals. The bottom one of Corey and I was when we were evacuated from our home in Port Hinchinbrook in Cardwell when Cyclone Larry hit the town. The kids and I took off to Townsville and waiting for the storm to pass. It was one of the most terrifying nights of my life. Not sure what the morning news was going to be.. no home... no pub... people injured? Our pub got thrashed but our home was perfect.

Ken and I on my 40th birthday out for dinner, my baby girl and I, my big blista Tan and I at Rainbow beach on a motorbike weekend away and of course my two boys at the beach.

In this layout I have used Kaiser Craft Timeless paper, Cosmo Cricket - Deck the Hollies, Sassafras - Serendipidty Apple paper, Collection Elements Butterfly, jenni Bowlin Butterfly Stamp, Ranger Crackle Paint, Martha Stewart Punch, Jenni Bowlin Bingo Card, Prima Flower, Teresa Collins Chipboard Flower, Basic Grey Brad and some thread.

Is everyone going away for the holidays here in Qld..? We are heading off down near Byron Bay in our caravan...mmmm sun, books, beach, bike riding, eating out, dwinkee poos, nana naps, magazines and of course some blog reading.. lots to do but miles of time to do it in... and no phones and no work... sounds like the perfect holiday to me. Ohh and don't forget the nail polishes...

Echo Park and my2angels

Have you checked out this gorgeous funky range from Echo Park?

I have used the cool Echo Park Apothecary Emporium Hypnotic Stripes paper and the Stripe Toad paper. These go really cool together and very masculine.

I have even got a bit more adventurous with my Glimmer Mist in the Tiger Lily shade and thrown a bit up in the corners.. I'm normally pretty careful with this stuff but on this page it just goes great.. The grungier the better.

And check out these new Admit One tickets...! I love them. They are so totally vintage and I love anything vintage. These are so cheap and look great on any page. 10... Yes 10 for $1.20.

I have also done a bit of embossing with my favorite embossing color. I have used the Scrapware Chipboard Antique Lowercase Alphas Mini. Love these. Look how great they come up embossed.

I have used Emboss Embossing Ink Pad which is super easy to use. Just dab your letters in the ink pad and then sprinkle your favorite embossing powder all over the letters, shake shake shake, then get out your heat gun and apply heat until you see the embossing powder set or melted.
Its really amazing watching this process take place.

I have added one of my favorite black scroll felt stars to set the scene. These funk up any boy fun page. Above that I have added a wee strip of the Black Velvet ribbon with a silicon swirls. This at the moment is as cheap as chips....

And of course to make the page I have used the cool scrapware cogs that Tracy has got in ATM... I have just left one raw, inked up the edge a bit and the other one I embossed with the silver embossing powder. Just to finish off the page with another addition of texture I have added in the cute as Mandarin Bakers Twine. I love this stuff. So cute.

AND

Look what I come up with using just the smallest amount of Echo Park Apothecary Emporium Skull and Bones paper. I am going to put this away for Corey's birthday in February. Thought it was a good idea instead of a card kids are not really interested in. I know he will think this rocks!!!

I think I will even do up these for his birthday invites.. Pretty cool for boys or girls I think!! Well pretty paper for girls

All I have used is the Skull and Bones paper, a slice of the Graphic 45 ABC Primer paper collection, one of my2angels decorative pins which I have just punched out a piece of the cool Echo Park Apothecary Emporium Spider Webs paper and adhered it to the pin. Used some scraps of lettering for the HAPPY BIRTHDAY and his name and finally glimmer misted up the Scrapware barbed wire flourish (back in stock on Monday).

And waaalaaa... We have a cool birthday card for our boy .

So go ahead and get cracking.. I'm off to make a heap more of these for birthday boys with this cool paper.

Collection Elements

Hi girls... I have got a great wee stash of Collection Elements products which are soo super duper gorgeous. I love grunging these sort of products up and I love the vintage look. Not all the time but when I do a vintage layout, I love putting it all together. The products are so pretty and can look so feminine.
My backing paper is Cosmo Crickets Odds and Ends. It worked perfectly with this layout.
In this layout I have used:

Collection Elements: Chipboard bodice
Chipboard butterfly
Chipboard heart locket
Vintage Printed butterfly
Postale sheet printed paper
Notions Transparency
Antiquing Tissue Paper

The other products I have used are lace, Kaiser pearls, ribbon, Karen Foster scrappers floss, Jenni Bowlin chipboard banner and sticker and lastly Tim Holtz Film strip.

And of course not to mention the gorgeous Tarrah McLean who was a great online friend who I hadn't met before... after chatting online for so long we were pretty keen to meet each other so she packed her bags, scrapping stash and flew up from Sydney to have a great long weekend with me and 3 other great scrapping friends that I have. These girls are gorgeous genuine friends who are really nice to have in your life. Now a forever friend aye Tarrah xxx

Well it's nice to be designing again for Tracy over at my2angels. I had taken a wee break after selling our business, completing my Masters and going up North to see my baby girl.
Tracy has got lots of new exciting stock in since then so make sure you pop over and check out her new charms as well as all her new yummy stock.
I have had the Prima Road Trip Collection for a little while and I could not wait to get my hands on them as the papers are so cute. My son and husband think this is a pretty cool layout... obviously because it is a boy layout and not a pink girly one LOL

I have used the cool Scrapware White Corroboard letters and combined them with the Scrapware Chipboard Large Impact Alphas. I have just left them raw and then used my favorite black pen and drawn some stitches on them.

I have used the cute Green Felt Embossed star to add some texture to my page. These are lots of fun and are very versatile for layouts or fun kids birthday cards. And of course I then added a Red Scroll Star. They are so cute.
And to finish off my layout as always i have added my favorite charms.. the camera and the brum brum car.

I am looking forward to doing some creating with the new Graphic 45 Prima ABC Paper collection when I arrives.. Should be any day now.
And take a look at the new Hambly Screen Prints Photo Rubons that are due in soon at my2angels too... I love them..

Kaisercraft Saturday Sketch

It has been a lovely rainy day today so it was a perfect day to be inside and just play in my scrapping room. I picked up this delicious new range from Kaisercraft at Daisy Chain Scrapbooks last night while I was there for my Friday night crop. I had many visions of what I could create using them.
When we went to New Zealand on our first boat cruise in December 2010 we stopped at my old stomping ground Mt Maunganui. I spent nearly every summer of my life over there until I moved across the Tasman. These photos were taken of Corey at the top of this Mountain. It is such a beautiful part of our world.
This is what I come up with..

In this layout the only papers I have used are Kaisercraft Hunt and Gather Collection.. Is so beautiful. I love the real nature feeling of the papers and it is nice to see such different papers which are mellow and meaningful. Go here and check out the luscious range of Hunt & Gather.
I have also used Tim Holtz Distress ink and clear embossing powder for the cog, Prima branches, my2angels cap charm and October Afternoon letters.
I hope you all have a good weekend.. we are rained in but I love it.. and so good for the ducks :-)
